Studio Ghibli and their artists put in millions of hours collectively to create works if absolute art. Sam Altman just borrowed millions of dollars to rip them off.

As a tool, it should be highly useful to artists to help them create things. However, the fact that these algorithms (I don't care to call them AI because they aren't) are stealing people's work and then shitting out mediocre garbage and the people in the creative industry who tend to finance such things start thinking that "these machines can just do what an artist can so why pay for an artist" is the problem.

The way Altman whines about how much he should be allowed to steal people's work to feed his bottom line, I have no doubt whatsoever that this is the case.

I was trying to figure out what the heck they were talking about when they referred to push notifications. And then I realized that this was in reference to the YouTube app which I have never actually used (other than to cast YouTube videos to my TV. But I always disable the thing immediately after using it for that purpose.) So I have never gotten notifications from YouTube about anything, literally ever. LoL 😂

I don't have a positive view of a lot of countries, especially ones that are actively murdering men, women, and children but I am not advocating for the destruction or death to the inhabitants of those countries.

You are making yet another false equivalency. "Please stop murdering people and grant them freedom from oppression" does not equate to "I wish to see you and everyone around you dead".

Saying "free Palestine" does not equal "down with Israel and the Jews". Wanting freedom from oppression for one group is not an endorsement of violence or oppression against another.

IMO The Little Mermaid live action remake was pretty good. They made the love interest make more sense, not just the guy going "pretty girl is pretty" and also I liked that

Yeah, the reaction to Sandy Hook was what broke my illusions about libertarianism. And like the loose thread on a sweater it began unraveling the entire political philosophy. I saw how self centered and egotistical the entire belief system behind it really was.

You should read that article more carefully. The Amber alert went out on the phone system I mentioned but the detailed information was being displayed on Xwitter. And that was a local decision by that particular police force. Obviously a poor decision at that.

Amber Alerts have their own system that has nothing to do with Twitter. A lot of people disable it but it rings on your phone the way an emergency alert does and it's local to your area. I'm sure they also send alerts through twitter, bluesky, and fascist-book just to cover bases but the main system is not dependent on a social media platform. That would be stupid.

And here several days later they are still trying to gaslight everyone into believing that it never happened.
