I like the experience im having here on lemmy... I dont discuss politic neither politic views. Tbh, dont care about it. I just want to be the full experience of Lemmy, where i can see all communities and dont get blocked , since I choose lemmy.ml because when I did a sign up, Im pretty noob about fediverse.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (2 children)

At this point, I guess choosing a instance from any country is the best way lol

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (7 children)

And which instance I choose to get the full experience of Lemmy and see all communities?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

this dont make sense for me, but I guess I need to understand your view. As I said, I dont think too much about the instance ... And imo dont reflect nothing about me since this is just internet and dont reflect my thoughts. I can be what I want here, nobody knows if im lying or not. I can be one of the brothers of Bradd Pitt and probably some people believe on this lie.

Now I'm understanding some people have some wars between some instances and block some instances. At this point I'm more and more confused tbh. But yeah, ty for your opinion

When I signed up for Lemmy, I didn't know about some wars that existed between instances, and when I chose lemmy.ml I thought, “Why not?”. Tbh, dont think too much about instances.

I signed up because I wanted to get the full Lemmy experience, but I don't know if some instances block the instance I'm connected , and this is a bit confusing for me. At the beginning, when I joined Lemmy, I remember reading that it is advisable to choose the instance carefully, and I even assume that it was my mistake, but I think it could be a little easier for those who enter the fediverse. I guess. Know nothing at this time.

So, the question is there. Do you judge members by instance? I'm just a normal guy; I don't like the extreme right or extreme communism. In fact, I think all extremism is stupid. But , if you could enlighten me on this, I would appreciate it.

At this point, I don't know if I'm blocked by some instances or not. Basically, I want to enjoy having the entire Lemmy experience, where I could read all types of content.

EDIT: during this time, maybe some people judge members because the instance. And I dont like that feel if someone think "oh look this dude, is from lemmy.ml, he is extremist communist, for sure". However, I'm not. Im just a normal guy without any politic side.

Liverpool didn't get a new sporting director last summer?

there will be a Lisbon derby (Sporting x Benfica) on Thursday for the Portuguese cup, and they are usually quite good.

It's the first leg of the semi-finals for portuguese cup. Here are the stats for all matches between Sporting and Benfica in cup games.

Examples of two games, for portuguese cup, between these two , where the games were incredible.

Benfica won today and Sporting drew a few minutes ago. Derbys for the cup are usually very , very hot and amazing... even with the draw, Sporting is in the best phase of the season and Benfica has been growing slowly during this season... tbh I think it will be a great game

Firstly, I want to say sorry to @[email protected] , considering what we talk in the previous thread. I promised I would create a poll to discuss a page or site aside from Lemmy, or something similar, on github/wtv, but, as I know myself, I know that I wouldn't be able to and have the patience to combine work with another page outside of Lemmy.

I have been honest with you all the time, and I will be again. I don't have a GitHub account, and I only use it to view apps. I have no experience with github, and that would give me more work: maintaining the megathread here and on another site. I am extremely focused on maintaining the megathread here, and I will do so with all pleasure. And I have 100% confidence in myself that I will do a good job.

These are the reasons why I won't open a separate megathread on another site. That being said, if anyone wants to take on and create something outside of Lemmy, they have my support in moving forward.

Once again, apologize to everyone for this inconvenience.

Continuing in relation to the megathread, here you can see the work. I've already built the megathread, made a banner (in which you can choose whether you like it or not, or whether you find it useful), and made an FAQ.

(You have two links, both has the same content. I dont know how to show you the work through these links ^^'' )

Regarding the megathread, I cut Lemmy's apps, taking this into account, and the redline apps are apps that haven't been updated since 2022. This topic also serves to discuss these things. Tell me which changes you will make. How long ago, in relation to the last update, do you think an app should be considered to join the megathread?

Previous polls are still open.

Taking into account that, at least for now, four times a year is the most voted. Since then, I'm thinking of creating one thread in February, one in May, one in September, and another in November. What you think?

The megathread will finally open between next Tuesday and Wednesday. Cheers

Ty for your opinion

Ty! Ente will be my new 2fa

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Ty for your opinion

I've been looking for a 2fa authenticator with support for PC and Android, and I came across with ente , which apparently has support for both. But I would like to know more opinions....

Has anyone used ente 2fa? Did you like it? What other open source services of this type exist, with support for Android and PC?

Any suggestion is welcome

Once the threads are finished, it is now time to discuss how the megathread should be built. I apologize in advance for having forgotten to mention any apps for daily use. I noticed that I may have failed launchers or other useful apps for daily use. Still, the threads are open. Any suggestion are welcome. I would like to ask you to contribute with upvotes or downvotes in the comments that best suit your vision. All contributions are important.

Here, you can discuss and say your apps you may have forgotten - https://lemmy.ml/post/11678824

Since English is not my native language, I will try my best to explain some details I want to discuss with the Lemmy community. If you don't understand certain things, please tell me what you don't understand, and I will do my best again.

So…… Lets begin………

  • I was thinking of opening three threads per year to update the megathread. Do you think that 3 times a year is enough (for example, once in January, once in June, and another one in December), or do you think I should open 5 to 6 times a year? | Poll here - https://strawpoll.com/XOgONY582n3

  • Tittle Im thinking: [Megathread] FOSS Apps — Lemmy Edition | You like? Or do you want another?

  • How do you prefer to divide the megathread? I'm thinking of dividing the threads into single topics, that is, intended for each type of app — for example, one part just for YouTube apps, another just for email apps, and so on. This is an example - https://i.imgur.com/pgw47oM.png | I guess it explains better what I'm talking about. How would you like to see the megathread?

  • I'm thinking of accepting only suggestions with two upvotes (or a difference with two upvotes) or above on previous threads. Do you think it's fair, or should I accept all the suggestions given? | Poll here - https://strawpoll.com/7rnzmK9oDyO

  • In the megathread, I will not accept app suggestions because, in this way, the topic will be clogged. However, I must remain open to important information and other things, as, for example, happened with Simple Mobile Tools, which was sold to a shady company. Of course, all suggestions are welcome, besides app suggestions. Your suggestions will be prompt and extremely useful when I open the threads to update the megathread.

TL;DR …. So far, I'm thinking this:

  • Open three-time-per-year threads to talk about new updates for MegaThread.
  • Divide all apps into specific categories.
  • Only accept suggestions with 2 upvotes or above.
  • Not accept suggestions on MegaThread and accept only tips and important information.

Tell me what you think. What you agree or/and disagree.

Lovely day for everyone!

Lovely day for everyone!

Thread to discuss webbrowsers, important utilities, and apps that we have forgotten about previously but cannot live without. In short , all apps you want to see on the final megathread.

Next week, I will open a thread to discuss some details and thoughts with the entire community to build the megathread.

Previsouly discussions

Discussion about Contacts, SMS and Dialers app is here.

Discussion about Calculators, Cameras and Calendars apps is here.

Discussion about Manager files, Recorders, Galleries and Video editors apps is here.

Discussion about Keyboards, Notes, Maps and Music Players apps is here

Discussion about Weather, Stores, social media and related stuff apps is here

Little context

spoilerWhy not build a megathread with the best and most reliable FOSS apps too help someone who want to join on the bright side of open source?

We (because this is not from me, this is from us) need to share thoughts, ideas and all things you want to say. Dont be shy. Upvote the comments you like and agree; disagree and tell why you disagree. This is will be different from others threads because this need a proper user opinion, and your opinions will be VERY important to build this. In short, your opinions and thoughts will be the fundamental source to build this.

I will read ALL comments to build this. Even if this has a million comments, I’m going to waste time reading it. Whatever it takes.

Your opinions about it are CRUCIAL and FUNDAMENTAL, because your opinions is the main-base to build the megathread.

Found it more stable and the UI looks a little better, imo.

I'm feeling more tired about Windows, and the reason I haven't switched yet to Linux is because I need some programs that only exist on Windows. But, at this point, I'm focusing on ditching these programs and finding alternatives for them..

Last year, I experienced Linux Mint, but, at least on my PC, it feels clunky when I need to do some little video editions and I found it more stable on Windows.

However, I'm going to try again Linux distros with a virtual box, but I'm a little """scared""" to move on again to Linux Mint since my last experience with editing videos.

I don't need an extremely powerful program to make these editions. Olive, or something like that, suits me perfectly. So, in your opinion, which distro should I try on one virtual box for my daily use for these purposes?

Making a dual boot, from your point of view, is problematic? I see so many different opinions about dual boot, but at this time, I don't know what to think.

My pc

  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 3 PRO 2100GE with Radeon veja graphics
