I thinking this since Leverkusen is the leadership of bundes lol. Amazing work by Xabi btw. If we talk about playing well this sport , Leverkusen is probably the best team this season

Don't get me wrong, and I even think I shouldn't get involved on this, but it's a bit of a waste to pay for Spotify. imo, it's a company that doesn't deserve our money, since they dont care about musicians art and pay very poorly to them. If you want something to listen offline, I recommend Tidal. In the x manager app you have this option with a modified version

I dont know if is allowed share piracy, but search for something like x manager app on duckduckgo / google

Hello mate. Probably you do not understand the context of my (cross-)post, and I need to say sorry.

I did a cross-post to catch more opinions and suggestions about the megathread I will build. But I guess this was not a good idea since this has been under construction since January. However, you deserve an explanation.

In January, I had the idea to create something with Lemmy’s daily-use FOSS apps to build something special for the final. Like a thing where everyone can see the most reliable apps from Lemmys users. I started the threads on [email protected] and then, along time, opened threads to discuss some themes and apps related. You can see in this post all the threads created - https://lemmy.ml/post/11678824

During this time, these threads served as a fundamental piece to build the megathread, which will be shown at the end of this month. That’s why I created this topic today and these polls in order to get the megathread in the best way possible for all Lemmy communities.

Once again, I need to apologize because this topic appeared here by parachute without having the slightest context behind it. What I can do is, at the end of the month, show the megathread that is being built. Given that I started at [email protected] , it makes sense where it is when finished.

Thank you for your comment, and sorry once again. Have a lovely day.

No problem, amigo!

No. "Everyone exists only to die" is like this: "Todos existen solo para morir."

The fully translation of image of OP is fully correct. Im not spanish tho, but I understand some things.

Re-welcome. Hope you enjoy lemmy like am I.

I put Nostr aside because , with some opinions I got here ( https://lemmy.ml/post/10243294) , Nostr is very centralized on Bitcoins matters and his environment. I like a lot the idea behind Nostr, but I guess it that will not suits me

Graber is "optimistic about human potential, even though I'm realistic about human nature." When Bluesky launched last year, it filled a gap that was desperately needed by people who were looking for alternatives to X, as it seemed like the ship formerly known as Twitter was possibly sinking. (Against all odds, it hasn't yet.)

Bluesky wasn't as confusing as Mastodon and wasn't owned by Meta like Threads. Bluesky looks and feels much like Old Twitter.

There was only one snag: It was available as a beta launch, only with an invite code, which was initially so hard to obtain that even Joe Biden couldn't get one. Starting Tuesday, Bluesky is finally out of "beta" and will be open to anyone — no codes needed.

Like Mastodon and Threads, Bluesky is an experiment in a new, "decentralized" way of running a social app, where users can create their own communities and moderation rules. (Bluesky also has its own moderation team.)

Jack Dorsey was involved in creating Bluesky while he was still at Twitter and now sits on its board. It's organized as a public benefit corporation.

Ultimately, it may not be a winner-takes-all competition between these X alternatives; the new approach to social may be to exist happily in smaller pockets without needing massive scale to survive. (Although Meta certainly would love to win the battle with Threads.)

Lol. Ty for that. After Jack Dorsey falling in love with Nostr, still dont understand very well what he wants with BlueSky.

If is just an copy of twitter, why not make it more freely with less information about people?

OK maybe that happens to avoid bots and spam accounts, but still.....

We are on the same boat. We need to find the right platform and the right instance, and as a newbie on the fediverse planet as Im, I will need more deep searches. This is a punch on the head, but I guess this is a process to choose wisely and understand full completely the microblogging ecosystem.

You dont need to apologizie. No problem mate.

These days I searched and try to understand more about Mastodon alternatives, and see Pleroma and Misskey (and his forks) are more lightweight than Mastodon, and saw some people says Mastodon has some security vulnerabilities.

However, I have encountered some difficulties in understanding some things. Some instances block other instances. Some says you can only speak in English. Others seem private and I don't understand if I can see content from other platforms. Etc, etc…I know are differents instances rules and fully respect that, but on other point of view, dont understand very well which I can choose to see all content from all platforms.

Now, I would like to use one of these platforms to watch content and be able to speak in English, as well as speaking in my mother tongue. But I have always backed away because it has been difficult to understand some things.

Basically, I would like to know which is the best platform to interact with, one that has the minimum privacy and security rules, where I can see other instances of other platforms (be it Mastodon, Pleroma, etc., etc.), and where I can speak in my mother tongue. At this point, I'm little confused, to be honest.

My favorite content is sport, music and technology, but I'm also afraid of entering an instance that isn't suited to this.

If you can help me, I would appreciate it.

Do you know any application that blocks numbers outside my country? So that my phone only receives calls from numbers in my country.

At least in my country, exist a new fraud scheme in which people call me from different countries, from Europe and Africa. This has been quite annoying. And Im receiving these type of calls atleast 1 time per day.

I only find apps that say whether or not the number is fraudulent, but I don't find apps that actually block calls from numbers outside from my country. If you know some app, share it please. Thank you !

This thread is ONLY to talk about Weather/Meteo apps, Store apps (Like F-droid or AuroraStore) and FOSS apps about social media and related stuff, like youtube or Fediverse (Mastodon, Lemmy, etc..) apps.

For example, Newpipe is related to YouTube and a good FOSS app to watch videos.

We (because this is not from me, this is from us) need to share thoughts, ideas and all things you want to say. Dont be shy. Upvote the comments you like and agree; disagree and tell why you disagree. This is will be different from others threads because this need a proper user opinion, and your opinions will be VERY important to build this. In short, your opinions and thoughts will be the fundamental source to build this.

I will read ALL comments to build this. Even if this has a million comments, I’m going to waste time reading it. Whatever it takes.

Your opinions about it are CRUCIAL and FUNDAMENTAL, because your opinions is the main-base to build the megathread.

Arthur Cabral , Benfica striker, scores a beautiful goal today against Estrela Amadora.

Don't get me wrong, and the question is completely genuine.

One of the things I miss - albeit a little - about Twitter was the learning I was able to do on certain topics, for free.

Obviously I had to really, really filter what I wanted to see on Twitter, to be able to read interesting things and learn some things regarding different topics - like football, music, etc...

While Lemmy, in my opinion, is an excellent and better alternative to reddit and WriteFreely seems like a viable and best alternative to blogger/medium, I would like to know if in your opinion, places like Mastodon or Pleroma are, in fact, an alternative to twitter. I would like to know your opinion.

I confess that in this aspect I miss Twitter a bit, because I could see content from people trained and studies in topics I wanted to read, but I don't know what the content is like, in general, on Mastodon, Pleroma, etc...

Taking into account is Twitter is a mass social network, will it be difficult to find this type of thing on Mastodon, Pleroma, etc?

EDIT:

In one of the comments I posted on this thread,, Exodus and Libchecker gave me trackers about Material Files app . I download the app from F-Droid or Github, but @[email protected] alert me this app, after all, doesnt have trackers from F-Droid. Dont know why this happened to me, and dont know if it was a bug or something related, taking into account that apps gave me trackers.

I appreciate his comment and I want to say sorry to everyone. If someone can talk more about it and share experiences with Material Files, I appreciate a lot.

Qualquer dica que me possam dar agradeço imenso. Um abraço para todos!

spoilerContext about these threads: https://lemmy.ml/post/10307932

This thread is ONLY to talk about Calculator, Camera and Calendar FOSS apps and too share your best ones and thoughts.

Probably I will do an edit on the lists I made about apps to talk, because I forgot to add some options when I build in my mind the future threads.

If you want to talk about Contacts, SMS and Dialer FOSS apps, is here.

As I said, I will read (and read it) all comments in all threads to build the final megathread. (Sorry for not reply all comments. even though I read everything).

Your opinions about it are CRUCIAL and FUNDAMENTAL, because your opinions is the main-base to build the megathread.

Have a nice day for everyone. (and sorry about my english, I hope everyone can understand me)

As title says, I can help the devs of lemmy apps to translate to portuguese (from Portugal). Brazil have much, MUCH more population than us and we have some differents things on language. Im saying this for your knowledge and we (portuguese or brazilians) have some things from our homeland language that sometimes we dont get it.

You can send me a mp if you want.

After read this thread, I have an idea. Why not build a megathread with the best and most reliable FOSS apps too help someone who want to join on the bright side of open source?

I want to know if you agree with that. And if you agree, I will create one thread per week to discuss the best options to use on android. Dont know nothing about iPhone, so, if you want contribute, lets go, say what you feel.

But, this require your help. Help from all communities.

Even if this has a million comments, I'm going to waste time reading it. Whatever it takes.

If you need help, use Exodus site too see if any app has trackers.

(Apps from Simple Mobile Tools will not be accpeted, because they was bought from a shady guy)

I'm going to divide this by threads, as I said.. After one week, I will open the second thread. This first topic will be to discuss:

#1 - Contacts, SMS and Dialer

>The next ones will be

spoiler#2 – Calculator, Camera and Calendar

#3 – Manager files, Recorder and Gallery

#4 – Keyboard, Notes and Maps

#5 – Meteorology , Stores and social media

#6 – WebBrowsers and Important utilities

For now, this is my suggestions for this part one. Only on final (megathread) this is will be matters.

spoiler

>Contacts

~~- Right Contacts (from goodwy) – This app is only avaiable from PlayStore, however, the code is open as you can see here. Tell me if you agree with that, please. If you all disagree, I will delete this suggestions.~~

  • Simple Contacts Pro SE – This is will not update anymore, however I put it because, for now, I guess it works. Is a fork from Simple Concacts (SimpleMobileTools).

>SMS

  • QKSMS – If you like a minimal and simple sms app, you probably gonna like this.

~~- Right Messages (from goodwy) – Again, the code is open and you can see here. I like a lot these apps from goodwy.~~

>Dialer

~~- Right Dialer – Again, same thing from RightContacts and RightMessages. Code here.~~

  • Koler – Simple and beautiful app dialer. I used it. However, dont have the option to block anonymous calls.
