Would we though? The model S was only ~2 years away and that was the first EV people took seriously.

The leaf was affordable, but depreciation hit so hard that buying one new was only for actually insane people. And the battery degradation was almost as bad as the price degradation so your meh range became even worse. In ideal conditions it was fine, but anything worse and it was not a good option.

The leaf did such a disservice to EVs that the world would probably have been better off without it. It was ugly, it was slow, it had no range, it had no battery cooling so degradation was awful, and charging was slow to boot.

I hated Tesla in 2018, and I still hate them to this day.

Cloudflare isn't the best at blocking things. As long as your crawler isn't horribly misconfigured you shouldn't have much issues.

Radiowaves are not free real estate. Every country has their own laws on what frequencies you're allowed to use for what.

2.4ghz frequencies are basically as unregulated as they can get in the US, so that's why wifi used that for the longest time. I'm not sure what devices used 5ghz before, but they took that frequency for wifi. You have to fight for every mhz you can get in radio waves.

Here's the wiki article talking a bit about this. I've never heard of like 3.6ghz wifi so that's interesting. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wi-Fi#Operational_principles%3A%7E%3Atext=some+cases+severely.-%2CWaveband%2C-%5Bedit%5D

I love when I take my gay little car out of storage and two days later it snows.

I like how they specified the xo-1 lcd. Everyone knows the one laptop per child computer from like 2010 is the most relatable device in 2025….. 15 years later… fuck. I wasn’t even 15 when that came out.

(in addition to the other comments) Is it actually not deleted, or is it still cached on one server and hasn't made it to another server?

Yeah... It's still going so fuck it.

To be fair this is actually a linux ISO.

No, the police will show up at your door on October 11th and arrest you on the spot.

If you're in the US you'll be sent to El Salvador. If you're anywhere else you'll be sent to the US, receive a few tattoos, then El Salvador.

Is there any plan to try to fix federation with hexbear.net? Shortly after their domain expired it stopped working, but now that it's back it doesn't seem to have resumed. Does Lemmy even have something in place to fix federation issues when something like this happens?
