They should add login and subscription handling on their website as well like so many do, with 30% off on the subscription fee because there'd be no Google tax.

Damn I should have pushed harder when that incident with WhatsApp was all over the news. Only a few of my friends and a couple of family members switched.

$18 per week?! Damn Netflix and Disney+ prices aren't even that high.

Now that'd feel like paying for adware :(

No end to the greed of these corporations.

One of the devs has already forked it and plans to maintain the project.

Ah sorry, I didn't know there was a Libre flavor of Aves, had just checked the regular Aves on FDroid. Thanks for this!

I donated to them directly once and then again opted for the PlayStore versions to buy these apps. Sadly, I will have to move to the FDroid version now because the PlayStore one, the ones I paid for, can get infected with adware any day now.

Contact YOU app has SMS inbuilt. The SMS support is in very early stage so buggy but the dev is going on at an amazing pace. Just give it a few more months.

For dialer, I'd keep using the simple app for now. There's Koler with material you theme but it hasn't seen dev in 5 months and doesn't have all the feature like regex-based call blocking.

Any stories you guys wanna share from school or college regarding this?

Maybe I'm missing something basic but I've been using Voyager with the Mark posts as read on scroll and Show hide posts button. While browsing the Voyager community, I scrolled till 19d mark and pressed hide posts. No matter what I do know, I'm unable to bring back those old posts. Shouldn't it show everything by default and only on pressing the button hide read posts?

This was taken around half a decade ago when I visited Norway. Beautiful city and people! The Tyholt Tower is a 124m tall communications tower (probably the tallest building in all of Norway) that houses a restaurant and an observation deck. It revolves and completes one full revolution in an hour so you can enjoy a good meal and capture in all of Trondheim!

Notice a small islet on the top right. That's Munkholmen, an islet that has in the past served as a place of execution, a monastery, a fortress, a prison, and also a World War II anti-aircraft gun station!

Had visited India this summer. The heat was unbearable in places like Delhi but got better as we moved to the hills up north.

I'm a FOSS (free and open source software) contributor and enthusiast. So I prefer to use such products (Lemmy instead of Reddit, Linux instead of Windows, Firefox instead of Chrome, Signal instead of WhatsApp, you get the idea). Was just thinking that if everyone moved to such solutions, the tech and ad industry would lose billions of dollars. That would translate to governments losing billions of dollars in tax revenue. Would such a move ever be encouraged then by the governments?
