Just don't move to the kbin.social instance, I'm already starting to get worried since it's an absolute monopoly castle on kbin

Jerboa still seems to work with this instance though

source: typing this comment on upgraded Jerboa

Edit: nevermind it crashes when I try to upvote a comment, of all things

Lemmy doesn't have "their own app" nor does it have "its own site". It's all open source. There is no one company behind it. The one issue that might arise is that the open source project is being led by a bunch of developers who could in theory go rogue, but people would just create a fork (kinda like a copy) of the source code and create their own lemmy instances. On top of that, Lemmy instance admins would likely not install the updates from the main developers.

Don't worry, we're safe here.

Forever and ever :3

Never heard of anyone who had a gender dysphoria related surgery before the age of 18 ever. Nor did I ever hear from any endocrinologist who started HRT before the age of 16.

The gatekeeping from medical professionals is massive, there isn't a single professional who doesn't question ones identity 20 times during the course of months just to be sure.

Had a blast in the past, until my GPU couldn't handle the graphics anymore when I pushed myself to the competitive limits, and shortly thereafter they nerfed the Ares Ion (my absolute favorite ship) and my 10 year old Thrustmast TM16ks started to fall apart as well.

I'm heavily looking forward to getting back into it again once I can up my hardware :3

That'd have to be finetuned in the lemmy code and rolled out with a new version. Also, those algorithms are insanely complex, companies earn billions over those pieces of code.

Nevertheless, I'm certain someone's already working on it cause open source rocks

The Skyrim FPS lock to 60 fps was due to the physics engine not working beyond that. Knowing Bethesda, and knowing the fact that in the 30 or so rereleases of Skyrim they've never fixed that, I wouldn't be surprised if that's still there

Moderation's gonna be really interesting. I wonder how many "join Lemmy" gifs someone could post there

The feeling of guns in general is the best in any game I've ever played
