Great job! Starts singing the doom song

I started this just after finishing Totoro so this is a few weeks of work. Will be a present for my sister when finished.

I want to frame that Totoro stitch and my wife would really prefer a round frame. I don't really want to use just a hoop but have had trouble finding round frames in a 12-14" size that seem nice/decent quality. Anybody have any recommendations?

update:

So my wife found a round record album display case that was 12". It had a couple little quirks, but ended up working pretty well. The trouble was nobody really frames round objects. We ended up taking it to a Michaels and they did it, but there were definitely a couple hiccups in the process. (They tossed the back of the frame and just papered over it once they had the stitch in place. Mostly because they didn't pay attention when we said there was a lip in there they needed to take into account because it was meant to display a record... Oh well)

From the front it looks pretty great and we have it up on the wall now and I am pretending the back is fine. Heh.

After 10 months. Finished. Biggest project I've tackled to date. I'm super happy right now. Will look for a frame to finish the project for good.

Totoro was too big to bring so I grabbed the little katamari damacy kit my kids got me for Christmas. It was a normal pattern but at the last second I came up with the joke and had to use it. (for those not familiar with the game you play as a prince)

Probably close to half done with this color of rain. It's... something. I definitely have to convince myself a little more to work on it.

Since it's not actually Wednesday (and because I wanted to document it somehow) you get a picture of the back. I'm done with everything but the rain. And I fully expect that to make the back look ... different. So here you go. ๐Ÿ˜…

Finishing up the tree before the rain rain rain falls down down down. Getting close...

Beautiful day.

Mostly not too bad. It's pretty clever how they hide a bunch of the wiring under the tea house. You have to kind of braid a bunch of it and shove it under a little lego hide along with the connection board. That was tricky. I made my daughter do the braiding.

This is the second set I've done a light kit for (the first was the Daily Bugle set. Talk about jumping into the deep end...) so I kind of knew how the wiring worked with the bricks at this point. The instructions were pretty good and the wiring was pretty good as well. It didn't come with a power source and it wants a usb power source instead of a battery pack or something, but I had some old usb power blocks running around, so that was fine.

Yeah some of them are really great. My daughter and I visited the Japanese gardens in Portland this Summer and when I saw the set I had to get it for a fun reminder of our trip.

It doesn't. I bought it from light my brick

Got the light kit installed this afternoon. My daughter and I had a fun time with this set. The light kit really makes it pop.

It's part of the Bugle set.

Alan Wake 2 and power wash simulator

Took us a little over a month. The light kit install was kind of a bear but so worth it. It plays the old cartoon theme song along with several other sound effects.

Finally finished the build and kit install. I think it took us about a month and a week or two. It's amazing. The sound and lighting effects are amazing.

Utah. We didn't go to Richfield where the prime viewing spot was but it was still pretty neat here.

Sea of stars. And it is a delight.

You can't do that right now
