How about carrot hair. Or maybe, like, mashed potato hair?

something like 50-80 % of the energy we use (it depends on how active you are,) is used for just sustaining life (AKA your base metabolic rate.)

humans convert a bit less than 50% of the food-energy into a form we actually use- glucose. even though bicycles themselves are fairly efficient with the power put into them, humans themselves are not all that efficient. as for most effecient animals, that would probably be something like an albatross, which extracts energy from the wind to fly. (Specifically using a technique known as ridge lift. in the R/C world, the speed record is 548mph or so- set by a glider using similar techniques, and albatrosses can cross entire oceans.)

offices in cities frequently do. maybe larger complexes in suburbs do, but yeah, it's not universal, and it can frequently be tied in with fees associated with a fitness center, etc.

Hammer drills are basically "small" jack hammers that can also operate as a drill. Put it in hammer mode and repeated chisel at it. it'll take some time, but eventually the glass will be broken and you can then deal with the polymer layers by yanking.

we had a rash of people doing that to ATMs in the US, too.

the plastic in the lamination would foul it.

Personally.... I would have gotten a hammer-drill and put a chisle bit on it. It'll take time but you'll get there. Alternatively, I'd attack the seam around it (Cutter spreader should take that nicely.) (you can rent a hammer drill for like... 50 bucks. and I know you can rent various types of cutter spreaders, too.)

Most people who are in dev aren’t maintaining shit.

Most coders don’t write new scripts, they’re cutting and pasting from whatever libraries they have - using ChatGPT is just the newest way to do that.

Your boss doesn’t care about how the job gets done- they care that it gets done. Which is why we have giant code libraries just chock full of snippets to jigsaw into whatever we need.
