So only Alabama actually observes it. It's the only one that closes state offices. Mississippi combines it with Memorial Day so technically there is a day off and they are diluting Memorial Day. I'm a Floridian and have never heard of his birthday being observed or mentioned. In contrast I actually get Juneteenth off.

Probably because of the Soviets. Dividing up Germany was not without risk. Soviet tanks and American tanks were parked across the boarders from each other with rounds ready to fire.

The Soviets did not send soldiers to battle without weapons. That is a myth. They fought like hell in WW2 and finishing that is stupid.

I think you are misreading the article or article summary. It is the states where LGBTQ rights are being restricted that have more hate crimes.
