People weren’t banned for criticizing them, they were banned for encouraging others to misgender people if they don’t like them. I don’t think anyone was banned for not using “personal” neo pronouns.

And drag was banned from BZ for telling people to KYS, then they went and made a new account on a different instance and have continued pissing people off, now the new acount is being banned from stuff because they’ve continued the kind of behavior that got them banned in the first place.

he can only undo certain things on his own. There is a lot of other groups and countries that have a say on the sanctions.

… what? Are they just copying musky hype slop?

The far right is popular because it is allowed to exist while criticizing powerful institutions, because their proposed solutions and actions do not meaningfully threaten those institutions. Any criticism and proposed solutions that might actually fix issues are often buried or demonized as soon as it gains traction independently.

But this behavior is hurting the long term viability of media institutions, the narratives and ideas they push are so detached from real world experiences of viewers that they losing meaningful viewership.

Be funny if it turned out they couldn’t actually track the shooter down, so they just picked a random person to pin it on to make it seem like people would inevitably get caught if they did a copy cat crime.

For oil and gas producers, plastic is a very important part of the industrial system. Significant amounts of what is extracted is not usable as fuel after refining. It would just have to be dumped or burned off, which would hurt margins, just throwing away 1/3rd of what you pull out of the ground.

The profitability and market viability of fossil fuels depends pretty heavily on plastics production as a way of profitably disposing of byproducts. Take that away and they’re much less competitive with other energy sources.

Didn’t the author also predict that the china was going to collapse in 2011?

Oh and also on the board of directors for CPAC?

Like, I just skimmed the authors Wikipedia page and it kind of feels like he might have a bit of an agenda.

At least movies are entertainment.

This stuff is just them trying to corner the market on centralized processing. The AI Branding is hype to keep investor money coming in.

But supporting Google is fine? Because if using any gecko fork is supporting Mozilla, then using any chrome fork is supporting Google.

How is it different? Or how is Mozilla worse than Google?Or are you using safari or other webkit based browsers?

Getting the word out about the wonders of AI appears to have some impact on AI PC appeal. Just 32 percent of respondents unfamiliar with AI PCs said they'd consider purchasing one for their next upgrade, whereas among those who have already used an AI PC, that figure rises to 64 percent.

In other words, of the self selecting group excited enough about the technology to try one of these, 46% wouldn’t buy another. I can’t help but wonder when these companies will realize that there is no market for clippy 2.0.

Yah, I expect to see more of this TBH.

Trump built a broad coalition of alienated elements to push him over the finish line and now that he’s across it, it hardly helps him to stick his neck out to support them.

Then there is congress beyond that. The senate and house may have a majority of republicans, but they have elections they need to win in 2 to 4 years, and many of them don’t really care about the people in the coalition trump has built. They only need to support those elements that will be important to them winning future elections.

Well, it doesn’t necessarily need to be bought, it just needs to not be part of alphabet anymore. I think the ideal outcome is actually that chrome become an independent non-profit that maintains an important piece of software using funding from a consortium of different sources that want it to continue to exist.

This kind of thing is actually very very common and far from a new concept.

I’m aware of things like framework and they’re a cool system, but they’re limited in what chipsets can be used by the mother boards they offer.

I’m thinking in the context of a cheap low spec system that can be handed out for use by a group. Most of the options available are just very pricy.

Maybe something like a SBC would be a better fit since there are plenty of cheap options out there and they can be mounted in a custom built shell with the other needed elements.

A thought that crossed my mind was ordering printed circuit board and just soldering on the sockets and the like, but that’s a very involved process with a lot that could go wrong. Especially for someone with very little experience.

Short of custom ordering from a company that does such things, are there any systems for building a mother board?

This is more out of curiosity about what options there are out there. Any other thoughts people have about custom built laptops or interesting things in that space?

I’m looking at various single board computers ( think raspberry pi) to host a server on. Namely for hosting media, an email, and perhaps a web site/fediverse instance/blog/forum on.

I’m under an assumption that a SBC and some hard drives could handle this on the hardware side. Am I totally off the mark? And what kind of os and other soft wear should I consider using?
