Looks like it's Majid with one "j". Found this page; which seems to show the character OP mentioned, Lieutenant Maryam. Can't find when she was first featured—wikipedia just says she was added later.

That's a great movie! I haven't really started showing my daughter (9) scary movies yet. I was terrified of spiders for like a decade after seeing Arachnophobia as a kid, and those Scary Stories books gave me nightmares for years, so I'm reluctant to expose her to media that might trigger something like that for her. Tough to know when it's the right time—or at least, that's been my experience.

I haven't downvoted you, but I usually downvote any comments complaining about downvotes, or pretending that their point is proven by downvotes. It's always fallacious masturbatory bullshit.

I dunno. I upvoted it, because it's a really spot-on parody of the kind of comments a lot of people were making last fall. At the time, though, I was more or less in that camp. Not because I actually wanted Biden, but because it seemed like we were stuck with him as the nominee, and Trump was the only alternative.

But that can't be right! I have it on good authority that A&W stands for Amburgers and Woot beer!

Looks like this one: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_Arthur_and_the_Knights_of_Justice?wprov=sfla1

I'd totally forgotten about this show, but I remember watching it, as well. Curious to see how it holds up.

Not a lot, I imagine! Still a pretty low hurdle to clear. All you really need is ammunition and a place to shoot it. It sure helps to have a spotter/RSO/somebody who knows what they're doing, but you can muddle through all right given enough trigger time.

True enough, but it's not very hard to learn.

Pretty good pizza at Woodstock's, tho.

In a similar vein, I've found that when I start saying things ironically, they tend to creep into regular, unironic usage. "Cheese and rice" being the latest example, in my case.

I bet the salad was good, though. Silver linings, and all that.
