Aug 18, 2023 - Version 7.23

Changes

  • Changed ArqMonitor to show a notification every 8 hours if it can't connect to ArqAgent.
  • Changed timeout for most transactions to storage locations from 20 minutes to 3 minutes.
  • Retry on the very rare AWS 400 error 'Your socket connection to the server was not read from or written to within the timeout period. Idle connections will be closed.'
  • Retry continually on 'The network connection was lost' error, unless the user clicks 'Stop'.

Fixed Issues

  • Fixed an Arq Pro issue where initialization may not have created the right files in the case of a backup set that's migrated from an older version of Arq.

For me both must coexist. The time light allows me to be able to see the development environment and the elements in situations when there is a lot of light (even if the monitor is anti-glare the light theme is better), while when the light decreases the dark theme does not "shoot a blinding light".

Basically, light or dark? both.

First he fires almost all Twitter employees, some even almost without warning, and then he complains that Meta has hired them to develop Threads.

There's no getting around it, Musk has only led to the failure of what was, in part, one of the social networks with great potential.

The admin of lemmy.world, mastodon.world, and calckey.world says the site has been hacked. For details, here you can find his post and this for the recap.

What does all this have to do with the backup community?

Lemmy instance administrators must take into account that any backups of previous versions of their instance may be affected by this vulnerability.

While updates to Lemmy instances are progressive in a future timeline (meaning they tend to update to newer versions and not older versions), there is a chance that administrators, for some reason, need to use an old backup. In this case, the use of previous versions must necessarily eliminate the problem of custom emojis and rotate the JWT secret.

Do I have to change my password?

The administrator of lemmy.world, mastodon.world, and calckey.world says that passwords are not compromised, but to "sleep peacefully" it's preferable to change your password.

Or is it that the OpenAI computer isn’t going a good enough job of following the “three references” rule to avoid plagiarism?

This is exactly the problem, months ago I read that AI could have free access to all public source codes on GitHub without respecting their licenses.

So many developers have decided to abandon GitHub for other alternatives not realizing that in the end AI training can safely access their public repos on other platforms as well.

What should be done is to regulate this training, which however is not convenient for companies because the more data the AI ingests, the more its knowledge expands and "helps" the people who ask for information.

People joke about these things but for me the MX Master Dog wireless mouse is one of the best!

When you start learning CSS

I remind you that Lemmy.world has recently implemented the ability to enable two-factor authentication.

To enable it, go to your profile settings and find the 2FA button at the bottom. Once you click on "Save" the page will reload and you will have a new "2FA installation link" button that will allow you to save the authentication seed.

Remember to always save the seeds and/or QR codes of accounts with two-factor authentication. Many password managers like Biwarden or KeePassXC allow you to save 2FA codes. However, this would mean that together with the credentials such as email and password there will also be 2FA creating a single breaking point which in some cases is not convenient.

An alternative is to use 2FA applications such as Aegis, FreeOTP, and others (I would avoid Authy because it requires a phone number) or use keys such as Yubikey and the like.

Surely many have already seen this masterpiece, but it's always nice to relive these memories.

If you have alternatives to this link like PeerTube or others I'm happy to avoid sharing with YouTube.

Regardless of everything, whether it's too full of detail for an icon or approaching the style of Apollo's icons, I have to admit it's absolutely gorgeous! Good job!
