I remember when new iPhone releases would make headlines and people would crowd around computers to watch the live announcements. I remember sneaking out of work early once so I could be home in time to watch it with my housemates. Nowadays they’re so boring they barely get mentioned.

I tried to copy this into ChatGPT for a summary and it was too long. Who’s actually going to read it?

We cancelled. We got Disney Plus and we share my brother’s Amazon Prime and I realised that we hadn’t used Netflix in over a month. We’d opened it a few times and browsed for while before switching to another service.

Netflix is absolutely awful now, we would just spend an hour browsing just trying to find something tolerable. The last thing that was good was Squid Games, and that was only good not great.

Tiger King was fucking mint though.

This is never going to pass. It’s got so many hurdles to jump at this point and similar bills have never gotten any traction. There’s nobody screaming for this and it’s just been dreamt up by old Tories who don’t understand technology. I think I read it’s just been opened up for eight weeks of consultation and on day one somebody will explain to them that child abusers don’t use messaging systems that can be cracked by the government and they’ll find a way around it. No matter what they do they’ll never stop people just VPNing out if the country and away from these laws.
