Is it true that purchases from sync for reddit don't carry over to sync for lemmy? I don't know how anyone could possibly justify a lifetime purchase if so.

I don't think that's a death threat at all. Guillotines are a metaphor for the working class forcibly taking power away from the ruling elite.
I understand geometrically they have the same number of holes but in my head straws still have two holes because they have an "inside" so both entrances to the inside have to be a hole.
I haven't looked into it at all but I expect IPs are visible to instance admins. That's pretty typical of any online platform.
I'm not sure how feasible it is but I've seen a sort of "minimum wage" for robots suggested which is paid to the government as tax.
Everybody has to learn everything some time.
I'm sure they'll all improve pretty quickly but for the moment I'm finding Connect is pretty okay.
I'm using Connect. It's the only app I've foujd so far that has a list view which is pretty similar to RIF's.
Bigotry seems to be a core principle of modern conservatism so I'm not sure how an instance could be a right wing hellhole and not full of bigotry.
