Scientists have raised concerns about whether high-income countries, with their high per-capita CO2 emissions, can decarbonise fast enough to meet their obligations under the Paris Agreement if they continue to pursue aggregate economic growth. Over the past decade, some countries have reduced their CO2 emissions while increasing their gross domestic product (absolute decoupling). Politicians and media have hailed this as green growth. In this empirical study, we aimed to assess whether these achievements are consistent with the Paris Agreement, and whether Paris-compliant decoupling is within reach.

Hello friends of /c/green

In recent weeks we have introduced a weekly observations thread in /c/collapse - with success I would say. We average 10-25 comments per week and see some nice discussion and a few regular posters in these threads.

Motivated by those positive results I would like so introduce a similar thread here but with a more general slant on environmentalism, gardening, nature observation and everything related!

Tell us about your work in a environmentalist community group! 💪

Tell us how your native flower patch is doing this year! 🌱

Share some pics of the cool bug you saw on your last hike! 🐛

It continues:

Do we want our schools to impose on our children, from their earliest days in school, perversions that lead to degradation and extinction? Do we want to drum into their heads the ideas that certain other genders exist along with women and men and to offer them gender reassignment surgery? Is that what we want for our country and our children? This is all unacceptable to us.

Ally to all LGBTQ+ folks around the world, Wladimir Putin everyone. Truly someone we should all support in our fight for equality among all people!!!

My friend and I joined Brackeys game jam and developed this small space horror game. Check it out or critique my horrible art skills if you are bored, maybe even rate it if you have an itch.io account

Hey, just wanted to ask what your favorite podcasts are. I'll list a few of mine below.

  • Ashes Ashes - A podcast about the systemic issues that society is facing now and has to solve to survive
  • Crime Pays But Botany Doesn't - Lowbrow botany, phylogenetics, systematics and the hunt for the filthiest public bathroom in Alta California
  • Fight Like An Animal - The attempt of a synthesis of behavioral science and political theory without racist and sexist bullshit. I recommend starting from the first epsiode
  • In Defense Of Plants - Interviews with plant scientists about everything concerning, well, plants
  • History of Pholosophy Without Any Gaps - Philosophy professor goes chronologically from the early beginnings of philosophy up to today! Extremely thorough and interesting
