Wow.. I feel sad thinking about this now.. we really don't have enough time.. it also makes me angry how we spend most of our waking life working like donkeys and end up sacrificing the most important things we love..
Asking other countries to get off coal and blaming them for climate change is the most entitled wicked shit Western countries do. Yeah we looted you, fucked you over and tried dismantling your democracy for years. Oh we also polluted the world like it is today because of our greedy ways and sold our soul to fossil fuel companies.. but you stay poor and don't use your resources to develop yourself.
It's also a lot harder to find good friends because of our increase in life problems, emotional needs, a lot less free time compared to when we were children. We lack the time, energy and motivation to form new relationships after working 8+ hours a day. We don't even have a free spot to hang out like when we were kids and the spontaneous nature to talk and play with others. We are much more afraid now that people will judge us. Also trusting a random ass dude feels much more dangerous now than when i was a kid lol.
Can't believe how many lemmy clients we're getting in such a short span. Exciting times ahead boys!

States do have power to decide how money is spent by them in their state. Taxes collected through gst have a 50:50 ratio in collection by state and center. But nationally it still matters quite a bit who's governing. India is not like USA where some states can decide to ban abortion and decide on what's not allowed. Usually whats legal in your state is also legal elsewhere. Some restrictions like beef meat, age of drinking are decided by states.
The center still holds considerable powers as it can decide to implement president's rule in a state which is not able to form a government. They also control union territories and decide on finance bill, defense pacts, etc. The president and many other positions like income tax dept, crime investigation agencies are just puppets of central govt. They have a record of using them to harass opposition. It's not just BJP who does that. Almost every party did it in their time. Congress was jailing cartoonists, activists when they were in power too. Basically India is fucked by corrupt politicians. There is no left or right here. Whatever gets you the vote is the king.
Don't like Modi one bit but it's far from death of democracy. BJP is getting their ass kicked in many state elections. It's just that the opposition parties are incompetent af even with their marketing. People haven't forgotten Congress's corruption that happened over the years and Modi knows how to maintain a persona.
