How can anyone run a Plex server on their work machine? And why doesn't their IT dept monitor their devices?

I see episodes for all seasons on Streamio Android. For season 1 and 2, there are no streams though

Love it. Question: Does Photon not support opening communities link within the web app? When I click on the Photon community link in the post, it takes me to the instance lemmy.xylight.dev page

Off topic question, I'm trying to learn about seedboxes: Do you have to configure your own VPN with your current seed box or is it not necessary?

It doesn't support Android Auto, right? That's what's holding me back from installing it.

I share your experience but unfortunately don't have answers

I was facing issues with lemmy.world too, now seems to be okay

tosdr.org for folks short on time

That seems as a weird decision by Firefox considering their relatively privacy focused image.

A Lemmy instance definitely saves that data as an instance admin can access it through the DB. Not sure if this is exposed via API

Strange! To give you more info, I've tried this on both Chrome and Firefox on Android.

Here's a screenshot of my "hidden posts" section: https://ibb.co/93F95h9

This post is also not visible in the voyager community: https://ibb.co/XyrWdM3 (sorted by new)

Thanks a bunch for all your work!

Edit: I just scrolled through my Home feed and since I have activated "Mark read on scrolling", after tapping "hide post", it hid those 4-5 posts and they all show up in my profile "hidden posts" section. But this post still doesn't show either in voyager community or in "hidden posts"

Thanks for the reply!

I had actually given it a try. For some reason, I don't see this post in the "hidden posts" section in my profile.

TLDR: While Fediverse won't directly serve you ads, anonymous bad actors other than Meta can save, redistribute, and even dox you for any information you post here. Anything you post here can/will remain forever on some malicious instance that doesn't honor deletion requests. So be careful!

Everyone is talking about how Meta is trying to Embrace, Extend, and Extinguish the Fediverse. Meta won't be alone for long in this goal, there will be a lot of capitalist actors that would try to do the same in the long run.

Defederation with them will be a shot in the leg, and handicap the Fediverse movement itself. There will be users/instances in the current Fediverse that would want to federate with them, and banning such instances would create silos and echo chambers.

The way out of this is to focus on the 2nd E - "Extend". I think we can all agree that UX of Threads app will always probably be the best out of all the federated instances. But that is something that people can still live without. Before long, Meta will tout shortcomings like lack of E2E encryption in the private messages and some other core features, that will create a bigger divide amongst ourselves. The Fediverse developers and community have to keep abreast of Meta on such core features, so that they can never extend the core of the Fediverse.

Let me know of your thoughts!
