When I'm scrolling through posts, I can set the display to show the community or not, show the user or not, but I can't show the URL itself. Really all I want is to see the domain, so I can judge if a click will be taking me to dailymail or rawstory or msn or foxnews.

This information is available in the website view as highlighted in the screenshot.

Is this a missing feature or am I just missing the setting?

Summary:
Please add a feature to Boost for Lemmy where, if a user is logged in with multiple accounts, they receive a visual indicator (e.g., a symbol, badge, or number) on the inactive accounts when a new notification or inbox message arrives on them. This would help users quickly identify that they have notifications on other accounts without needing to manually check each one.

Problem:
For users managing multiple Lemmy accounts (e.g., for different communities or purposes), it’s easy to miss notifications or messages on inactive accounts when they’re logged into just one. Currently, users need to switch between accounts periodically to check for activity, which is both inconvenient and easy to overlook.

Proposed Solution:
Introduce a cross-account notification system where:

  • When logged into Account A, and a new notification or inbox message arrives on Account B, a small indicator (like a numbered badge or icon) appears next to Account B in the account-switching menu.
  • The badge could display the number of unread notifications or simply alert users that attention is needed on the other account.

Benefits:

  • Improved User Experience: Users don't have to "guess" if there's activity on their other accounts.
  • Increased Engagement: Notifications will ensure users are prompt in responding, especially if the other account is for managing a community.
  • Time-Saving: Users can focus on one account without manually checking others unless they know there’s something pending.

Optional Features:

  • Customizable Notifications: Users can toggle cross-account notifications on/off for specific accounts.
  • Sound/Push Alerts: Optionally allow a subtle sound, vibration, or push notification when activity is detected on inactive accounts.

Conclusion:
This small enhancement would GREATLY improve the usability of Boost for Lemmy for individuals managing multiple accounts. It ensures no notifications go unnoticed and streamlines workflow across accounts, aligning with Boost’s goal of making Lemmy more user-friendly and efficient.

Happened in the last few days. I logged out and back in but that didn't help.

Don't think I'm banned, I was able to make a post on my browser and haven't had any mail saying as such

My app has started to not acknowledge that I've tapped a link for about 1 to 2 seconds after I've tapped it. It will, however, still collapse the comment, which is wildly frustrating.

This is maddening, what am I missing? In the hamburger menu in the top left, tapping on Guest switches to my username and loads the local communities feed, while tapping on my username switches to Guest and loads the subscribed communities feed. I can't seem to do anything with either my username or Guest -- no way to view my profile, posts or comments.

How do I get to my profile, saved posts and comments?

Also, does this app have an inbox/messaging feature? I don't even plan to use it, but I don't see it anywhere. I feel like a big chunk of the app is missing.

I tried searching and couldn't find an answer.

e/OS is a privacy focused android version that still allows users to install apps from the Play Store by spoofing user data. It uses it's own store called App Lounge, and it works fine for most apps. For some reason, Boost for Lemmy doesn't install when I click install, like all other apps, instead it opens the Play Store website inside a webview. Installing from the website doesn't work for me. I was wondering if the developer provides the APK somewhere? I only found some sketchy links so far.

As the title says. I find it very hard to tell the difference between read and unread posts. The colours are gray and slightly darker gray. Boost for Reddit was much easier to tell apart. I've found options for font styles, but they're still not very different from one another. Turning off dynamic colour theme helps, but it's still not a big difference.

I think it speaks for itself

Posting here since the boost sub on Reddit is completely locked.

As of a few hours ago the Boost for reddit app is giving me 403 errors and won't load anything at all. I've been continuing to use Boost for Reddit since the app-ocolypse since im a mod. But it seems like it might actually be dead now?

Can anyone else confirm?

Is there no way to delete dms, or am I just missing it?

There was a person in all these days that trough some shade on Boost for tracking, but they were referring to the free version, which makes the presence of ads and tracking very clear. In the post somebody recommended the app tracking protection that comes with DuckDuckGos Browser. I downloaded it and to my surprise have had a lot of tracking attempts blocked from Boost, despite me having the payed version.

I thought I'd ask about this here first, because there might be a reasonable explanation for this. From my understanding it was made clear previously, that the payed version of boost doesn't tack data...?

Hello! Got a request: When scrolling down the feed you can see an indicator on the right telling you where you are at. It would be really nice if you could drag the indicator for fast feed scrolling. It would make it much easier navigating a feed.

Thanks

I have View NSFW enabled. However, I don't see NSFW posts..

I do see them in the desktop, using the same account..

Documented here

It would be nice to render collapsible sections for

things folks might want to skip

Like super secret gameplay details or triggers

Last update was 6 months ago, Ruben was active a week and a month ago, so seems to still be alive at least.

Would be a shame, it has a lot going for it, even though the bugs are stacking up =/

Red is bad and blue/green is good.

The colors are backwards and it bothers me constantly. Is there no way to change those?

My own name is highlighted red. I don't even like the color red. I want my own name to be highlighted in green.

I would pay money for this functionality it bothers me so much.

I have message from a recent well-known fediverse bot in my inbox. Boost displays this as an unread message with (1) notification at the bottom.

I cannot figure out how to delete this message, nor clear the notification.

Summary

Potential Implementation of a dedicated chat platform for Boost for Lemmy users, either through Discord or Revolt Chat, to foster community engagement, facilitate feature requests, and provide a space for user discussions.

Detailed Description

As a user of Boost for Lemmy, I personally believe that implementing a community chat platform could GREATLY enhance user experience and community engagement.

This idea is inspired by similar implementations in other Lemmy clients, such as Sync for Lemmy's Discord server.

Two potential options for this feature:

  1. Discord Server:
    • Create an official Discord server for Boost for Lemmy users.
    • Advantages: Widely used, feature-rich, and familiar to many users.

  1. Revolt Chat

https://github.com/revoltchat

  • Implement an open-source alternative to Discord.
  • Advantages: Aligns with open-source principles, potentially more privacy-focused.

Proposed Functionality

  • Dedicated channels for:
    • Feature requests and suggestions
    • Bug reports
    • General discussion
    • App updates and announcements
  • User roles (e.g., moderators, developers, regular users)
  • Integration with GitHub for issue tracking (if applicable)
  • Polls for community feedback on potential features

Benefits

  1. Improved user engagement and community building
  2. Direct line of communication between users and developers
  3. Centralized platform for feature requests and bug reports
  4. Faster dissemination of updates and announcements
  5. Potential for community-driven development and testing

Implementation Considerations

  • Moderation needs and policies
  • Integration with existing support channels
  • Resource allocation for managing the community platform
  • Privacy and data handling considerations

I personally believe that this feature would SIGNIFICANTLY enhance the Boost for Lemmy experience and strengthen our user community.

Can't start a title with an emoji even though it's a valid title.

DAE have very delayed and sometimes never fired notifications for Mentions and DMs?

Reply notifications go through per settings just fine every 15 minutes or so

But mentions and DMs never seem to fire on time, sometimes 1 or 2 hours late, if at all. It won't even show a counter for those tabs when I'm on the replies screen, only when I flip to them they'll "catch-up"

I see this often and wonder how much I miss as a result. Imgur links neither render as a link nor an image. I only know it's a link to an image when I view it the same post via the WebUI or another app. I don't even realize these are images most of the time and just scroll past.

Is it simply not being handled yet? A bug? Design decision?
