As admins, we removed the scat communities, thinking that scat was covered by the NSFL. However, some people have opposing views on this matter. What do you think about it? If people want it allowed, then we can restore content.

Edit: My answer for friends in the comments; The main reason NSFL was banned is because we currently don't have the tools to separate porn from NSFL. I'm in favor of the ban because I think its the same way in scat. If we had enough tools right now, we wouldn't be ban the NSFL either. Although, I agree that voting for niche fetishes doesn't make sense.

Edit 2: Also I don't want to think about shit anymore. I'm out ๐Ÿ˜€ https://lemmynsfw.com/post/117500

Bots of this type have appeared recently, and people are asking if it's okay to use them. I'm not sure about this either, so I think it would make sense to ask users.

These bots follow some subreddits on Reddit and automatically post it to Lemmy when a post is created there.

I've seen an example site for it: lemmit.online. This instance is dedicated solely to mirroring Reddit posts to the Lemmy instance.

Maybe instead of mirroring to a community on Lemmy NSFW, we can subscribe to lemmit.online via Lemmy NSFW. This way we could have kept Lemmy NSFW free of bots. Currently, even if accepted, I believe it should be done under admin control to prevent duplicates.

Here is the poll: https://strawpoll.com/polls/PbZqRw82byN

I'm open to suggestions.

Unmoderated Communities (self.lemmynsfw)

If a moderator is not active or banned, you can request to be a mod for that community. Just check community rules before posting.

https://lemmynsfw.com/c/community_requests

I decided not to remove the old mod. What do you think about it? I believe I shouldn't do this, but I would still like to hear your opinion. Is it unfair to remove that mod if inactive for a week?

Also; @[email protected] is banned and s/he has so many communities. I can appoint if there are some volunteers.

note: bottomless and lesbians communities are reserved for now.

We don't want to overmoderate, but we have to add some rules for ease of moderation and cooperation with other instances in the federation.

  • 1. Non-flagged NSFW posts: Although we already had a rule about it, we were applying it a little more flexibly. From now on, posts that are not properly flagged as NSFW will be deleted without notice.

  • 2. NSFW community icons: As NSFW status can be added to communities, we think that hiding/blurring community icons is the responsibility of clients like Mlem, Jerboa or Lemmy-UI. That's why NSFW community icons are allowed.

  • 3. NSFW user avatars: Unlike community icons, users do not have an NSFW status. For this reason, NSFW user icons are banned. This rule may change as a result of improvements in Lemmy.

In order to apply the 3rd rule, the user will be informed first. Any post or comment made afterward may result in a ban due to non-compliance with the rule.

Lemmy NSFW is back (self.lemmynsfw)
submitted 2 years ago by yay to c/lemmynsfw

I'm not sure how long it took, but for a while the instance had crashed. For some reason the Lemmy photo upload service took up 150GB of free space and hence the server crashed because of it. I'm not sure about the possibility of recurrence as I don't know the exact reason.

For this reason, you can follow our Mastodon account, which I have just opened, to follow or report possible crashes.

  • Auto expand images

You can find it in the "Local Settings" section in the settings. If you are on mobile, you have to scroll down from the settings block. Also you may need to clear caches.

Note:

These options are kept on the device and are not synchronized between devices.

โ“ If you encounter any issues with lemmynsfw.com please comment in this post/thread. Please bear with us as this instance is managed and maintained by volunteers. Cheers!

(13/06 10:07 gmt) Seems like the issues we were having have been resolved (possibly an issue with cloudflare). Although you may still notice the website is a little slower then it should be.

The image uploading should work now, so feel free to upload as much you want!

(13/06 5:23 gmt) lemmynsfw.com is currently experiencing some technical difficulties. The site may not be working for some users, please bear with us.

Image uploading may also not be functioning at the minute, you can use an image hosting platform like lensdump.com or something similar in the meantime.

Please try to be as active as you can. Don't just come here, fap and then leave. Try to contribute and interact with the communities here. Because it's not the numbers that will drive growth for Lemmy but the engagement. Even if you don't want to contribute, you can always comment and interact by downvoting or upvoting posts.

We need to work together to ensure the best success we possibly can for Lemmy and the wider Fediverse.

Fuck Reddit, let's all try to move away from that absolute shitshow.

On another note: If you can't view the Lemmy NSFW communities, check out the other locally pinned post for some potential communities you could join.

Spread the Word about Lemmy NSFW if you can, as many instances don't like hosting NSFW content.

Build your own Community. No fetish is too niche, try creating your own communities to help grow Lemmy NSFW further! (Make sure your community follows all instance-wide rules, though!).

In this instance, should we ban NSFL, hardcore gore content? I think it's not a problem since anyone can subscribe to the community they want but if the vast majority don't want it, we can ban it. Decisions must be made from the beginning.

Here's a StrawPoll link.

Edit: Looks like we are going to ban it. Commenters are right that we cannot currently list NSFW and NSFL content separately on the homepage. Since anyone can open an instance, we should let other people to open an instance on lemmynsfl.com. Also moderating these communities can be hard too. So it's okay.

Almost all instances don't wants nsfw on their site. So I opened this site to fill the pussy. I mean gap.

Activate NSFW for your account

To see NSFW content, you should activate "Show NSFW content" checkbox at your account settings.

Should we change the domain?

Some guy said the domain is very obvious. He may be right. What do you think about it? Poll link. If yes, any recommendations?

Edit: It seems like most people don't care about domain. So I'm not changing it. Maybe in the future if Lemmy let us, we can mirror the instance on other domain.
