I run a couple of subreddits of my own, one with over 100k and one with 10k subs, I will be spreading the word on those subs soon and hopefully be bringing some more traffic here, let's hope that many are willing to migrate

I think most people don't want to deal with having to moderate to remove CP, basically. It's a big risk for small timers. Once you get to a certain size, plausible deniability becomes a more functional excuse. Lemmy instances are pretty damn small (at least at the moment), so you can see why peeps want to avoid problems.

How do I upvote this like 1000 times? It is of utmost importance to participate and engage with communities. Simply creating communities that mirror subreddits won't achieve anything. If we actually want people to migrate away from Reddit, we MUST provide them an alternative that's just as lively as their favorite subreddits. Thanks for pinning this post!

i've noticed there doesnt yet seem to be a way to unblur the previews for NSFW posts. is this an instance level setting?
We're working on patching this in for Lemmy NSFW. However check out this comment if you want to do a quick patch yourself through a extension.

There isn't a way to create a post here so I figured I'd ask in a comment.
I just saw my first OnlyFans related community. How do we feel about OF posts, in non OF communities?
Personally, I hated them. They push the entire community to be for profit, and you end up killing the community with posts that are fake.
If they're promoting their only fans in a community that doesn't explicitly state in their rules that promoting is OK, then the poster is violating an instance-wide rule and you should report their post.

In my personal opinion OF models are fine as long as:
- They don't do those obnoxious titles full of emoji (or any other cheap attention grabs).
- Their posts are actually related to the community in question, possibly with more scrutiny applied compared to non-OF OC (as they have an incentive to spam as much communities as possible).
But of course, this is a decision each community can (and IMO should) make for their own needs.

Sorry if this isn't a great place to ask this but is there a way to stop nsfw pictures from being blurred. In a browser its not a problem because you can just unblur it but on jerboa I have to open the image in a browser to view it unblurred, which is very inconvenient.
Working on it. I will patch ui to add toggle to unblur all images.
While you're at it, could you add some custom CSS to make the video previews/embeds wider?

Can you friend other users so that everything they post shows in your feed?
Are the community icons and banners allowed to be NSFW images? Like will community icons be federated and get us blocked? I don't want to do damage to potentially large communities before anyone is even here
Is there a way to disable media (presumably bc NSFW) being auto-blurred out while in thumbnail view before you click on it?
There is no way to do this at the moment, but our head admin is working on a patch that would allow you to unblur all media.
