Remember that "Tiger Mom" bullshit?
Amy Chua was her name, she was a professor at Yale and set the two of them up.
She's famous for the Tiger Mom shit, but she has a lot of problematic rightwing beliefs, and likely also got JD's wife the clerkships with Kavanaugh and Roberts.
They were put together to be a "political power couple" similar to Bill and Hillary. The husband is the candidate the voters like (Republican voters do) and the wife is the actual brains behind it.
So while your "joke" is pretty racist...
This did happen to be an arranged marriage, it just was about politics and not religion.
Let's keep racist/cultural attacks out of this. Unless you have evidence that someone tried to get her into an arranged marriage, it's pretty harmful to look at someone with Indian heritage and have arranged marriages pop into your mind. I've not heard any reference to that and it makes it seem like that was her only alternative. My understanding is that she was not pushed to marry him because she had no options. She made the decision to of her own free will and that's important.
