I dont like the idea of google watching what my kids buy. Edit for context: I dont like the idea of this being used to advertise to children. I dont like the idea of my child being used as a data point. I dont like the idea of a crazy ex who works at google using this to figure out what your kids are doing. I dont like ANY of the consequences of what this implies. Give your kid cash or a gift card. They dont deserve to have their Privacy rights violated before they can consent.

I dont like the idea of google watching what my kids buy.

So then clearly this product isn't for you? But just because you wouldn't use it doesn't mean its a bad product, which is essentially what you're saying.

I hope that your kids aren't gay, trans, or part of literally any minority. If they are, I hope they aren't hunted down by the MAGAts that buy the data you supplied Google with about them willingly before they could even be mature enough to form an opinion about it to be able to consent.

If you're this scared to live in reality, then don't. I don't know what to tell you.

If possessing a digital device is so scary for you, why do you have one?

[–] [email protected] 4 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Possessing a digital device has nothing to do with consent. I'd rather not argue with someone so ignorant about reality they believe that privacy is a black and white issue. Goodbye.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 5 days ago

Owning the device is consent. Read the terms of service of your device. lol.

dont be naive. google is not your friend, worse when your kids and your money are involved.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Do me a favor. Go ahead and point out where I said Google was your friend. Thanks.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 5 days ago (1 children)

oh, is letting it control your child not trusting it way too much?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Explain how it "controls" your child.

So then why would I care about what you're saying when you can't defend it?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago) (1 children)

i don't really care what you do. give all your data to google if you think that makes you brave.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 5 days ago (1 children)

So you don't like Google. And you expect other's not to like Google (I don't, by the way) or you think they're idiots. But when someone asks you why, you're not willing to defend your position there and you just want to call people who don't immediately side with your position on Google idiots...

Are you a real person, or just AI? You can't honestly be a real person, can you?

i don't really feel like getting into an argument thread with you right now. you seem to be a bit angry and aggressive about it too.

plenty of people here are probably already telling you why its bad. aint gonna be me today, chief.
