Cool idea. The USB-C port has to be much better protected than standard charging ports though. Those pins are way smaller and easier to destroy by road dust and grime than large barrel or XLR style connectors.
Hopefully the port itself is modular so it can be easily replaced. Some computer manufacturers have started doing this for USBc charging ports for some laptops.
