Biden had the same foreign policies towards Israel as every president before him but the progressives decided it was too much now… and we’re still waiting for them to do something.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 week ago

It's always been one of many reasons progressives stand apart from centrists, but are you really so tone-deaf that you can't see why it might have become particularly relevant during Biden's presidency?

And how, exactly, are the progressives supposed to do something when the Democratic Party puts more resources into beating down progressives than it does Republicans?

This comment betrays the absolute inhumanity of the Democratic Party. "Why do you give a shit about other humans, and why don't you do something about it with the zero power we've allowed you to have?" What a horrific position to take.

Yes, arming a genocidal state while knowing explicitly what those weapons are being used for is too much. Why are only the progressives against genocide?

[–] [email protected] 17 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Single issue voters, no matter how morally complicated that issue is, always end up with blinders on to everything else.

Things are worse in Palestine then they’ve ever been, Ukraine is being wiped off the map and the states is tearing themselves apart but I guess the progressives can rest easy knowing they directly or indirectly voted for this.

What issues are defendable if genocide isnt one? Shouldnt we be mad at the political party that actually made it their platform.

Sucks that he's dying but nothing was stopping him from telling Israel "No". When all your voters unanimously dont want genocide, you're just a dick for still running it anyways. The wishes of a foreign genocidal state shouldnt come before the american people.

He and most of the party fucked us over, not the voters.

What issues are defendable if genocide isnt one?

Great!

Trump literally aided a dozen other genocides since being elected:

Ukraine, Gaza, all the countries that USAID was trying to help, ditto for UNHRC and WHO.

Not voting against Trump is supporting all those genocides, well done.

I voted for Harris but their job is to win elections and help the population, not help Israels dead baby machine.

They screwed us over so Israel could keep killing without worry, and I'm not ready to pat them on the back and tell them it was the voters fault and not theirs.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago

The Israel situation would've changed nothing and the Dems know it, and it blows me away that this is the issue everyone harps on online. There are a lot of folks who passionately believe in the cause of Gaza, but when you look at the states Trump won, no one gives a fuck. In Michigan of all places, it should've been enough, but if you count up all the people who say they didn't vote for Harris over Gaza, even here it wasn't enough to have mattered.

While pockets of us do passionately care about the issue and congregate loudly in liberal spaces like this, the vast majority of the country gives zero fucks about brown people on the other side of the world. Zero. Fucks. And they are completely unapologetic about it.

So folks sitting out voting aren't changing anything for either side. They aren't responsible for putting Trump into office, but also Dems don't give a fuck and aren't going to change course over it. And also third party is not going to happen for President. Literally nothing voters do is going to change America's Israel policy for the next twenty years.

The two party system is a fucking farce, but also it's essentially baked into the constitution. This has been your daily dose of fuckitall-anyway.

This conversation is like talking to an anti-abortionist with them thinking they won the conversation because you agree with killing babies…

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Great way to ignore everything I said.

I don't understand what is so rewarding with bootlicking a party that made genocide part of their fundamental values and tried their hardest to give Trump the election.

They had a choice, you or genocide, and they chose genocide.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

‘I can’t agree with anything you say if you don’t want to save those poor defenseless babies!’

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

"I can't agree with blaming voters when it's clearly the fault of the party that wanted to kill defenseless babies no matter what."

Thats what I'm actually saying. Genocide should never have been an election issue, its crazy how the dems fucked up sooooo hard. I don't understand defending them.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I know.

In some people’s mind it’s a thought and conversation ending term just like baby killing.

That’s why it’s a wedge issue that creates single issue voters too.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 week ago (1 children)

You keep glossing over the fact that the dems chose to make it a wedge issue instead of just backing down and saying "Ya, genocide is bad and we wont help Israel do it".

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

And you keep proving my point.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 week ago

No, you keep just ignoring it.

The dems, by choosing to represent genocide, even though it was clearly a disgusting and highly unpopular platform, created a wedge issue that cost them and us the election. They betrayed us for the interests of a foreign nation.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago

also because MSM were constantly putting it on blast to derail his chances of a 2nd term, mind you the msms are owned by conservatives so they have an agenda against him.
