OK the one thing I will say here is that a WW2 Sherman tank being quiet enough that all you hear is the squeaking is actually on a technical point quite impressive.
One of the most unchanging elements of modern warfare is that tracked armored vehicles are loud. You don't sneak an armored column of tanks through the other side of a city like you could with a line of trucks or even wheeled armored vehicles.
Tanks, actual main battle tanks with tank treads, squeek, rumble, clang, clash, clunk, cludge and VROOOOOOOM their way through life. This is the natural state of a tank it is just everything is usually not this quiet around a tank or tank mechanics pull some black magic shit to make tanks temporarily NOT be squeeky during parade? I don't know, but I do know we should be giving this Sherman mechanic more credit for making their tank so damn quiet.
I didn't get the teasing about the WD-40.. it's a fucking tank. Have you never watched a war movie? They squeak They're loud. They induce terror.
