4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source.
Posts which titles don’t match the source won’t be removed, but the autoMod will notify you, and if your title misrepresents the original article, the post will be deleted. If the site changed their headline, the bot might still contact you, just ignore it, we won’t delete your post.
5. Only recent news is allowed.
Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.
6. All posts must be news articles.
No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials or celebrity gossip is allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis.
7. No duplicate posts.
If a source you used was already posted by someone else, the autoMod will leave a message. Please remove your post if the autoMod is correct. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.
8. Misinformation is prohibited.
Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.
9. No link shorteners.
The auto mod will contact you if a link shortener is detected, please delete your post if they are right.
10. Don't copy entire article in your post body
For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

Is anyone still pretending ICE is about immigration? ICE is Trump's SS, and they just got funding beyond any dictator's wildest dreams. Good luck with your totalitarian police state.
Edit: I want to retract my last sentence. It was callous and stupid. My heart aches for the people who fought against this.
Don't worry, the gun nuts will stand up against the totalitarian regime.
The real problem will likely end up being that civilians can't own the firepower the US military/police have, legally. No full auto, no giant drums, no grenades, no missiles, no fighter jets. Even if it were a "well-regulated militia" one fighter/bomber could take them all out, and be marketed on some made up news articles as, "we stopped the terrorists, you're safe now."
If it really came down to it, such a battle would be very one-sided, so it would have to be more strategic guerilla tactics.
Oh, and the SS just got a huge budget increase, so that won't help. (As seen above.)

There were already talks in the p2025 circles about ceasing civilian firearms in some fashion and then allowing "permits" at some future time for "loyal" gun owners. Wouldn't be surprised if they'll still try it.
Actually really curious as to the exact wording of this.
Because I wonder if this one in particular were better publicized, if it would turn some percentage of hardcore single-issue 2A types against the regime, if they put their money where their (very loud) mouths are.
It seems like it wouldn't work, but I imagine if we can broadcast a lot of "Are you STILL so sure they're not the bad guys?!" messages with receipts, it could eventually change some minds.
Even if they want to get back to arguing with us over the dinner table when the dust settles, we need everyone we can get.
I'm going to neg on my own comment, I don't trust Snopes anymore, but many news services also discredited what I mentioned. So at this point, because we know their reality is mutable and transient, who knows if it really happened or not. I'd still bank on yes, but I have no actual evidence to back it up.

The left need to arm themselves asap
That's how it was supposed to be, until the Right co-opted firearms as an entire personality, and the liberal response was to spread ignorance, miseducation, and fear about them so that their party branding looked different enough.
So now all the insecure, hateful, scared-of-everybody violence-fantasists are armed, knowledgeable, and stocked.
And those that would oppose authoritarianism en masse were force-fed "Only cops and the military should be armed and the rest of us should just wish they didn't exist".
So they're now largely rendered toothless and clawless normies who think flash hiders, rail grips, and black paint make a weapon "more lethal." And don't know what to do with themselves if pickets and law systems don't have an effect.
Meanwhile the "patriotic" bullies ramble about "freedom" and "small government" whilst simping for their fascist overlords unopposed by any actual threat.
Like most loud bullies, most are the types that would likely break if met with any actual opposition that could do them harm.
I don't want to see it come to this, but we need to educate and train ourselves before it's too late. The threat alone might be enough to put them in their place.
It's very clear nobody is coming to save us from this worsening state of affairs.
