Ask Lemmy
A Fediverse community for open-ended, thought provoking questions
Rules: (interactive)
1) Be nice and; have fun
Doxxing, trolling, sealioning, racism, and toxicity are not welcomed in AskLemmy. Remember what your mother said: if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. In addition, the site-wide Lemmy.world terms of service also apply here. Please familiarize yourself with them
2) All posts must end with a '?'
This is sort of like Jeopardy. Please phrase all post titles in the form of a proper question ending with ?
3) No spam
Please do not flood the community with nonsense. Actual suspected spammers will be banned on site. No astroturfing.
4) NSFW is okay, within reason
Just remember to tag posts with either a content warning or a [NSFW] tag. Overtly sexual posts are not allowed, please direct them to either [email protected] or [email protected].
NSFW comments should be restricted to posts tagged [NSFW].
5) This is not a support community.
It is not a place for 'how do I?', type questions.
If you have any questions regarding the site itself or would like to report a community, please direct them to Lemmy.world Support or email [email protected]. For other questions check our partnered communities list, or use the search function.
6) No US Politics.
Please don't post about current US Politics. If you need to do this, try [email protected] or [email protected]
Reminder: The terms of service apply here too.

Yours is pretty good, actually.
Most names I see here are just references or trying to be ultra edgy and offensive (SatansMaggotyCumFart for example). They might be memorable, but I wouldn't say they are creative.
Not many people have puns or even well done portmanteaus for usernames. 😔
I have seen yours the most. It's not the most creative but it's definitely the most eye catching from all big Lemmy posters.
Would it be more creative knowing the origin?
It's my two dogs' names combined. Loki and Kona. But I also misspelled it and the KOLA should have been a KOLO. KOloNAki.
How did you put a couloured spiral in your name though?
Display name can use emojis and other special characters.
It's definitely fun to know that.
For me creative would be more like when something makes me giggle but only after reading it twice.
That's worrying for someone who was on yiffit
Only if you're a weirdo who incorrectly assumes all furries are zoophiles.
I thought yiff referred to the zoophile furries?
It is just a shorthand for furry porn/slang for having sex in general.
Isn't that zoophilia?
Furries are humanoid creatures with animal appearances and human or near human intelligence, they're generally not considered zoophilic because they are mostly humanoid and can consent
But furries cannot consent without being forced to by their human authors, therefore they cannot consent.
I can't tell if you're joking, this is something I would say if I were trolling. Just in case you're serious: If they have human authors they are created with EXPLICIT consent. That's how fiction works xD That's like condemning all fiction literature because the people in the stories were forced into horrible situations for the sake of the plot.
That's why all fiction is bad.
~~I am trolling at this point but I thought yiff was zoophilia~~
Mine's not clever, just an NPC I made for an old GURPS game I ran ages ago that I've since used as my handle online. Frustratingly there's some guy in Italy who claimed it as their Steam name though so that's the one place I couldn't use it lol
FYI: your display name on steam doesn't have to be your login name and it doesn't need to be unique (but if you join a game with someone using the same name, whoever joins last will have a number appended to the end of it). You can change it whenever you want from the edit profile page.
Fark had a “Terrified Asexual Forcemeat” back in the day and that was…memorable
