K. Which president does that not equally apply to? Could probably count on one or two hands the number congresspeople that can’t be bought.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 4 months ago

Equally? None of them to Trump's degree, by my assessment.

But then, we're quibbling over degree of terribleness here. I'm not exactly a fan of most politicians or how they have been governing for the last 30 years, so I'm not at all saying things are rosy on the other side.

Could probably count on one or two hands the number congresspeople that can’t be bought.

Absolutely.

Which ones would say it does? Is Biden in your view as corrupt as Trump in that he can and has been bought for practically anyone that appeals to his ego and wallet?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 months ago (3 children)

Yes, I believe Biden and Trump to be about as equally corrupt.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Which one was being prosecuted for stealing and selling classified data before the judge he owned threw out the case?

Which one is being sentenced for felonies on Friday?

Which one held a private meeting with Russian spies while in office, then immediately asked for a list of informants, followed a few weeks later by a bunch of informants regarding Russian interests suddenly being killed?

Trump is a treasonous monster.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Yes, Trump is also corrupt.

Love that Blue MAGA always makes sure to qualify it with “prosecuted” and “sentenced.” As if Biden is somehow better for getting away with his crimes. Really shows the level y’all are operating at.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 4 months ago (1 children)

There's corrupt and then there's treasonous. Lots of politicians do shady things. Not many literally sell nuclear secrets to our enemies or provide hit lists of our foreign assets.

One is worse than the other.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Biden provided billions in aid to Nazis and Zionists, and provided intelligence to Israel on which civilians and aid workers to kill.

You have completely lost perspective to the Blue MAGA cult.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) (1 children)

And Trump is just gonna cuddle up and spoon with the Palestinians, right?

He totally hasn't openly said on on air that Israel need to finish the job and kill ALL Palestinians, right?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Yup. He’s about to be guilty of the same crime.

And Blue MAGA will still be more angry that he paid off a pornstar.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 4 months ago

The level of dishonesty out of you is disgusting.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Not if you’ve been paying attention. But if all you watch is propaganda, it might catch you by surprise.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 4 months ago (1 children)

I've been paying attention to the locker room talk.

One dude is scum, the other is boring.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

You know they both support genocide? Literally the worst possible crime a human can commit.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 months ago (1 children)

That's reprehensible, but not a crime.

Any actual crime?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

It is absolutely a crime, and White House attorneys warned Biden he was in violation of the law. He did it anyway.

https://www.commondreams.org/news/biden-complicit-genocide

Pretending genocide is not a crime is a new low for you neolibs. Disgusting.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Attorneys Warn Biden's Support for Israeli Assault on Gaza Could Make Him Complicit in Genocide

Lots of coulds and cans. They ARE complicit, but until someone gets persecuted under someone's laws, this isn't a CRIME.

This seems like a reading comprehension issue on your part, for some reason you are conflating morally wrong and criminal.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

The article is from 2023. Would you like some updated articles about his legal complicity? I can provide.

You don’t understand the difference between a ‘charge’ and a ‘crime.’ Whether or not you’ve been charged with committing it yet, you can still commit a crime. It’s just a violation of the law.

Biden has committed a crime in violation of both international & domestic laws. He just hasn’t been charged yet.

Still, that you think it’s a meaningful distinction to separate moral & legal crimes says a lot about you and your agenda. Do you allow those in the political party you oppose to make the same distinction?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

It eludes to criminal culpability, but doesn't point out who would actually be charged, or with what crime, or what authority would be persecuting. You're using ambiguity to further your narrative.

Maybe get your ducks in a row on some facts, and then you'll actually be able to hold warmongers accountable.

Spouting nonsense about criminality does nothing for the innocent dead, and does nothing to prevent deaths by these people.

Look at some statistics about incarceration in the US. Personal possession of plants has people in jail. There's absolutely a difference between crimes and morals, you aren't going to get justice conflating them.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

You should contact these legal experts to let them know your theories on criminal law. Come back here, and post the replies you get. Should be entertaining.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Right, the people that could prosecute said, no.

If you want to equate him with a twice impeached, convictions pending racist, you're going to have to work harder than that.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 months ago (1 children)
[–] [email protected] 1 points 4 months ago (1 children)

I'm sure whatever criticisms you have, we could say the other guy is N+1 worse, not the same.

In this case, one of them was racist 47 years ago. I wonder how recently the other one was...

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Biden just participated in genocide against Palestine. Genocide is max racism. He’s been a massive racist the entire time in between, and his record shows it.

But Trump will be killing Arabs by the end of the month.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 4 months ago

Reductive and disgusting. Are you paid to post this garbage or are you just that gross?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 4 months ago

And Xi genocided the uyghurs. Don't support that regime either, k?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 months ago (1 children)

It must be peaceful choosing to be this ignorant

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 months ago

How is being more aware of the crimes of US presidents “ignorance”?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 4 months ago (1 children)

And one of them just retired (Mitt Romney).

[–] [email protected] 5 points 4 months ago (1 children)

LoL. Fucking Mitt Romney? The “corporations are people,” vulture capitalist?

Buffoonery.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) (1 children)

I'm talking about Senator Mitt Romney, as in the guy that voted to impeach Trump over Jan 6. He changed quite a bit after losing the 2012 election. In fact, there are a lot of people in Utah that think he's a RINO, yet he didn't waver whatsoever in that conviction. He wasn't the best congressman ever, but he had integrity over that term and was way better than the man he replaced and his partner (Mike Lee) in the Senate.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Ahh. So just Trump Derangement Syndrome. Forgiving these crooks for any and all crimes, so long as they oppose Trump. Madness.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 4 months ago (1 children)

We're talking about being bought (i.e. integrity), not the quality of their positions. Mitt Romney couldn't be bought IMO, at least as Senator, he was rich going in and only seemed to want to run because he disliked how corrupt the previous Senator was.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Ahh. So he was serving his own interests, not those of people who bought him, and this is an improvement?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 months ago

Eh, I think he did a reasonable job of serving his constituents' stated interests, which is pretty much what you'd expect a Senator to do (but rarely happens). Utah wasn't particularly happy about him opposing Trump, but he was clear about that when he ran. He did a good job sticking to what he said he'd do, which is what I want from a representative.

That said, he didn't prioritize issues I care about, but I'm also not part of his party.
