Todays youth will never know the excitement my generation felt for green ketchup and it shows

idk, isn't GenZ still obsessed with Shrek?

Shrek spans the Ages like nothing else

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 years ago

Shrek is love, Shrek is life

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Aren't we all still obsessed with Shrek though?

Green ketchup was such a mind fuck! It was exciting though.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 2 years ago

That's so racist.

It's called ketchup of colour.

If anyone was too old (or young) to remember these, they were sold from 2000 to 06.

I remember the purple ketchup vividly. Such a weird disconnect in my head between the color and the flavor.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

What was the flavor like? I’ve never tried any of them.

I mean it tasted like Heinz ketchup, but slightly off. The only way I can explain it is how ketchups from different fast food restaurants all taste slightly different. The problem though was that you’re getting ketchup flavor from purple (or green, blue, orange, teal) goop.

Also Heinz marketed it to kids, but moms are the ones who grocery shop, and they didn’t want to buy their kids more expensive candy-looking ketchup, so the product failed.

I seem to remember them just tasting like ketchup. Like, just the color was different.

The purple one made me stop eating ketchup for like 5 years. The color and taste broke my brain

I remember when this came out I wanted to try it so bad but my parents said it would make the food look gross and refused to buy it lol

Wife and I bought the Purple one until they were gone….

Aaah, Tia Tanaka I remember her well.

I wasn't familiar with her work. She seems like a talented gal.
