The European Parliament overwhelmingly passed an emergency resolution Thursday condemning the Chinese government's persecution of Uyghurs and urging China to immediately and unconditionally release detainees, including Uyghur economist Ilham Tohti and Gulshan Abbas.

The resolution is fueled by widespread concern from the international community and highlights its continued concern about the human rights situation in Xinjiang.

Don’t let Lemmygrad see this article. They’ll ban the European Parliament.

[–] [email protected] 34 points 5 months ago

They’ll just change the topic and drown you in whataboutisms, logical fallacies, and availability heuristics.

[–] [email protected] 17 points 5 months ago (2 children)

It's not genocide if the communis... the dictatorshi... the ... Fuck your banned!

ml, hexbear & lemmygrad probably.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Some ml guy had a copy/pasta with about five links from obscure news sites describing how there was no genocide in China. And how inclusive it was towards religions...

Rofl

[–] [email protected] 2 points 5 months ago

Inclusive asong as you remove any ideological symbols and replace them with pictures of Winny the pooh

emergency resolution

The article references 2017 and 2018. Did something happen recently?

[–] [email protected] 18 points 5 months ago

Nope. Nothing at all happening lately, that's why Gedaliyah, son of Akiham, son of Shaphan, is posting 7 year old news about a great power accused of genocide against its Muslim population.

[–] [email protected] 17 points 5 months ago (2 children)

Some of the most Islamophobic countries in the world are condemning China's treatment of Muslims? I wonder how Islamic countries feel about it.

[–] [email protected] 22 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Wow an ML accepting china’s treatment of Muslims? You must be new… you’re not allowed to do that.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 5 months ago (2 children)

I am not accepting China's claims, I am accepting predominantly Muslim country's judgements on how Muslims are being treated in China over the countries that are either currently imperializing Islamic countries or are just incredibly islamophobic for no reason, like Poland.

Here's a map from Nov of 2019. A similar UN resolution passed about a month ago with similar support.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 5 months ago (1 children)

So to be clear, you accept that china is killing Muslims right? Don’t worry, your family won’t be sent to a reeducation camp.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 5 months ago (2 children)

If it was happening, Muslim majority countries might give a shit.

Europe does not and would not give a shit about the killing of Muslims.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Pretty sure they give a shit. Just because you can’t access that news doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist, Wumao.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 5 months ago (1 children)
[–] [email protected] 13 points 5 months ago (1 children)

So, are you trying to deflect from the fact that china is slaughtering Muslims too?

[–] [email protected] 6 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago) (1 children)

The point is that Europe is not a credible indicator on whether China is slaughtering Muslims, because Europe does not give a shit about slaughtering Muslims, as they regularly do it directly via interventions in Africa and/or are facilitating it right now via weapon sales to multiple dictatorships engaged in genocide of Muslim populations.

More credible indicators, such as actual Muslim countries, say China is not slaughtering Muslims.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Awww. See, here I thought you cared about Muslim genocide, but you don’t. You support it. Shameful. Bye.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 5 months ago (1 children)

What kind of "when did you stop beating your wife" horseshit is this?

The guys accusing China are supporting actual genocides against Muslims in Palestine and Yemen, you don't give a shit whether China is committing a genocide beyond it's utility to support hostile actions against those same Muslims.

Or do you think the Uyghurs lives would be improved by western sanctions, arming of terrorists, and/or military intervention?

This is no different than zionists handwringing about the plight of LGBT+ people in Gaza.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 5 months ago (1 children)

I’m saying all genocide is wrong. All Muslim genocide is wrong. You’re saying it’s wrong, except when china does it… because your only concern is the downfall of western civilization, and not AT ALL about genocide.

Shame on you for using genocide to push Wumao bullshit.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 5 months ago (1 children)

You’re saying it’s wrong, except when china does it

Stop misrepresenting what I'm saying. For the third time:

I am saying there is no genocide in China, because if there was, other Muslim countries would respond.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago) (1 children)

lol. There is plenty of evidence supporting genocide in china. You know it, but being Wumao, you can’t talk about it or even research it. So therefore you tell lies.

You’ll tell me it’s for “job training” or something, lol

[–] [email protected] 3 points 5 months ago (2 children)

Well the first paragraph claims "Forced birth control and sterilization policies targeting Uyghurs in China’s far western Xinjiang Province were intended to reduce the group’s population", which is proven false by the increase in population and life expectancy.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 5 months ago (1 children)

This was no accident. Wikipedia: Affirmative action in China

For example, minority ethnic groups in China were not subjected to its well-publicized (former) one-child policy.^[^^2^^]^^[^^3^^]^

[–] [email protected] 2 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Notice how they didn’t say the killing wasn’t happening.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago) (1 children)

There was killing happening: by CIA-backed fundamentalist terrorist cells that went on knifing sprees, set off bombs, and ran over crowds with vehicles. The Chinese state didn’t intervene for no reason, and I’m sure the vast majority of local Uyghurs and Hans alike were happy to no longer be attacked by terrorists.

Once you’ve seen enough “color revolutions”, you start to notice a pattern.

And by the CCP ordering the deaths of Muslims. Everyone is a bastard.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 5 months ago (1 children)

You are super-duper convinced of the Cold War II propaganda we’re being fed 🤷 I’m sure the Chinese state has nothing better to do with their time and resources than kill their own Muslim population for fun and profit. That doesn’t sound cartoon villain-y at all.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 5 months ago (1 children)

When you say it like that, anything sounds cartoony, so no, you’ll have to try another tactic Wumao. Get that money!!

You’re clearly not about to undrink that Kool-Aid, so there’s no point.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 5 months ago (1 children)

You and I feel exactly the same about each other. However, I won’t have my family abducted for speaking the truth. Sorry for your situation, I know this is how you pay your bills. Job is a job.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 5 months ago (1 children)

You can’t imagine someone simply having an informed opinion that differs from yours. I can only be a paid foreign agent sowing discord. More Snidely Whiplash-quality analysis.

Laughing my fucking ass off at your logical fallacy.

I literally linked a map from a 2019 UN joint resolution, showing mostly Muslim-majority countries, including Jordan, that agree that there is no genocide in China.

Both Qatar and Jordan are American puppets, evidenced most recently by Jordan helping Israel carry out its genocide by shooting down Iranian drones.

I mean so are several other countries on that map, it's egregious enough that Saudi Arabia broke with America on this.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Your words:

If it was happening, Muslim majority countries might give a shit.

Are Jordan and Qatar majority Muslim countries? Because I'm pretty sure they are.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 5 months ago (1 children)

I didn't say every single Muslim majority country, because countries like Jordan are perfectly happy supporting genocides.

Fuck off with this bad faith bullshit.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 5 months ago

If you didn't mean "Muslim majority countries," you should have said so.

Apparently what you meant was Muslim majority countries that pass your purity test.

Here's another Muslim majority country which gives a shit:

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-malaysia-china-uighur/malaysia-wont-extradite-uighurs-tochina-minister-says-idUSKBN25V1KE/

I'm guessing they don't count either since they're not the kind of Muslim who wears flowing robes and Keffiyeh.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago)
[–] [email protected] 7 points 5 months ago

I'm guessing they feel like it's about time those countries were on their side for a change.

Of course, some of them are fine with it.

Support.

But isn't there a better source for this than VOA? I don't trust VOA for news about China like I don't trust RT for news about USA. Etc. It's strange how many people post state propaganda as if it's honest news.

Happy that they are doing at least something; sad as i know that they don't really care about the Uyghurs but just about the f*ing tarrif war.
