From the article: "He believes that the current regulations are too rigid and that the focus should be on creating a sustainable and profitable business model for the automotive industry."

In other words, fuck the environment, our profits are more important.

It goes further than that:

"We have been unwilling and incompetent to innovate and adapt to changes. Instead of catching up on innovation, we demand the public to suffer from it and subsidize or profits."

The tightening of emission standards is continuous process and the requirements are known for many years in advance.

In other words, we should triple all fines and implement a 10% penalty every single day they go unpaid or disputed before these worthless greedy cunts literally cook us all alive on our own fucking planet.

Or maybe we should just dust off the ol' guillotine

"That thing we're not supposed to do? Just let us do it."

Mercedez Benz used my Grandmother as slave labor in Auschwitz to make their airplane engines. Mercedez Benz shouldn't even exist anymore.

I think CEO salaries could go into r&d if they feel that department need more money.

And that, dear kids, is why the European car industry is failing.

Källenius emphasized the need for flexibility within the European Green Deal…

Flexibility is a luxury we can no longer afford. If Mercedes can’t adapt, it deserves to die.

The funny thing is, it doesn't even matter. Either they transform into an EV company or they die with the declinining ICE market.

But all that fine money can till then be paid to the shareholders you silly goose.

No. Go away, spend the money, do the research, build better cars. In fact, since we are at, try and make a car for the modern age of mobility.

Mercedes already has some very nice EVs with very long ranges. They're far ahead of the competition, but they also cost 10 times more. You can litteraly buy 10 other EVs or a friggin mansion for the same as one Mercedes.

We don't need more luxury cars. We need good quality, affordable, cars.

If made in Europe, even better.

I think Mercedes already builds busses for public transport.

I dont give a fuck about Mercedes Benz, but "arenaEV" does not seem like an unbiased source.
