Huh, I was thinking tongs for hard boiled eggs.
I was thinking maybe cold scotch rocks. Apparently not though.
Or for grabbing a hot chunk from the fireplace. I think in pre-electric days they'd do that to quickly heat something up or maybe light a cigar, etc.
