*stares at URL*

I think I’m starting to recognize that link

[–] kamenlady@lemmy.world 66 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I see you're no stranger to love

[–] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 29 points 1 month ago

Obviously, you know the rules and so do I

[–] lesnout27@feddit.org 15 points 1 month ago (1 children)

In germany we don't open this link, we say "XcQ der Link bleibt zu." and i think it's beautiful.

[–] superkret@feddit.org 7 points 1 month ago

XcQ the link stays blue

[–] stupidcasey@lemmy.world 11 points 1 month ago

As I wander through the desolate wastes of this once-great land, surrounded by the ruins of structures grand enough to have been constructed by the gods themselves, I am constantly haunted by the glare of the despot responsible for it all. His gaze stares down upon me as though reaching inside my soul to condemn my rebellious heart.

Despite the untold lives he has ruined, my conditioning is so strong that I am compelled to drop to my knees and shout, "Oh, Mighty One! You will never give us up, you will never let me down, you will never hurt me."

But as I stand in the middle of a desert with nobody to hear my cries, I know deep down that he has indeed let me down. Still, the conditioning is too strong. We are strangers to love, and you know the rules—so do I. I wouldn’t get this from any other guy. The cult would never accept me back if I were to renounce my faith.

With all that in mind, I wander into the desert, knowing there’s no water for miles, promising I’m never gonna run around.

It’s a recent thing for me. I think XQC (think that’s a streamer) and the end of this link is XcQ with an upper case W just before. I don’t think I’ll never not notice now.

gXcQ?

Not for you.

[–] Irelephant@lemm.ee 69 points 1 month ago (5 children)

You can take a screenshot by pressing "WIN - SHIFT - S" :)

[–] 7355608@lemmy.world 44 points 1 month ago

Gotta watch an ad before it'll work. And another one to post it.

We work as software engineers and my colleague works on a particular application for one of our clients and I shit you not the following happens regularly.

  • Colleague emails client with a change log for the latest publish.
  • Client prints off the email and annotates it with a pen.
  • Takes a photo of the printed out email.
  • Attaches it to his reply.
[–] lord_ryvan@ttrpg.network 7 points 1 month ago (1 children)

They have this work flow and they still don't have a scanner‽

[–] ms5K8oWx@programming.dev 6 points 1 month ago

It's much faster to take a photo and immediately send it by email, or transfer it via bluetooth/airdrop to your computer.

[–] Irelephant@lemm.ee 3 points 1 month ago

This is probably preferable to when something is written with a "pen" tool and a mouse, so you have mspaint style handwriting.

[–] 4am@lemm.ee 16 points 1 month ago (2 children)

You can also press “Print Screen”

[–] affiliate@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago

but i don’t want to print my screen, i just want a picture of it.

[–] Classy@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 month ago

In KDE I hotkeyed Super+PrtSc to run flameshot gui, so I can instantly get very good custom screen shots that I can annotate or whatever if I want. Then Alt+Super+PrtSc takes a screenshot of both displays and saves it to a custom folder

[–] PunnyName@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago

Or Win + PrntScrn to make an auto saved file.

[–] PriorityMotif@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

I used all my free screenshots for the month, I don't have Windows+

[–] choccymalk@piefed.social 41 points 1 month ago

Don’t you fucking put that anywhere Microsoft might see. They’ll do it.

[–] cbazero@programming.dev 29 points 1 month ago

Microsoft be like 1000000171

[–] 30p87@feddit.org 28 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Windows
npm
Ad

That calls for a month of vacation with edibles and pizza with weed for the munchies. Everything so I don't remember.

[–] finkrat@lemmy.world 25 points 1 month ago

And now it's time to secure erase your SSD before it sees the light of day

[–] xtools@programming.dev 19 points 1 month ago (1 children)

people who take camera pictures of their screen instead of doing a proper screenshot should not call themselves developers

[–] ulterno@programming.dev 1 points 1 month ago

I prefer copying the text on the terminal and pasting it, due to most platforms using jpeg compression on png uploads, making written text worse.

[–] qjkxbmwvz@startrek.website 18 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I think mplayer has an ASCII output mode (VLC, too?), and I believe youtube-dl can output to stdout.

The rest is, as they say, left as an exercise to the reader.

[–] finkrat@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago

That's a strange way to get rickrolled

[–] rimjob_rainer@discuss.tchncs.de 17 points 1 month ago (2 children)

No dev would take a picture of the screen instead of making a screenshot

[–] Remotedeck@discuss.tchncs.de 8 points 1 month ago

But what if something pulls a Netflix and blacks out the window when you try to screenshot. The sanctity of the screenshot is ruined, take more pictures.

[–] Thcdenton@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

That's part of the curse

[–] lvxferre@mander.xyz 16 points 1 month ago

I know that URL.

[–] frezik@midwest.social 14 points 1 month ago

. . . so, anyway, that's how I became radicalized.

[–] Gork@lemm.ee 14 points 1 month ago (2 children)

First I have to drink a verification can, and now this??!!

[–] wheeldawg@sh.itjust.works 8 points 1 month ago

Don't forget to stand up and say MCDONALD'S.

[–] 9point6@lemmy.world 10 points 1 month ago (1 children)
[–] PunnyName@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago
[–] muhyb@programming.dev 8 points 1 month ago

Never gonna try that up.

[–] fibojoly@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

My colleagues have fancy terminal applications with fancy backgrounds, so I thought the reflection was a cool frosted glass transparency effect, at first.

And with the amount of memes being sent across throughout the day, I reckon if it were silly videos, they would eat that up.

Also : watch a video while that command runs? "Fuck yeah", they'd say!

[–] PunnyName@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

I know XcQ when I see it.

[–] riodoro1@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

If you are opening a text shell on windows you deserve it. Wsl should just send you to a gulag instead.

[–] renzev@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

When I said that Microsoft has a lot to learn from Linux, Ubuntu Server is not what I had in mind 😂

[–] Brahvim@lemmy.kde.social 1 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Aww, I read that as a brilliant:
"Write a short ad...",
...instead of:
"Watch a short ad".

Original wasn't exactly about working for corporate, but rather about consuming their poison, wasn't it?
