I think I'm too Android for this meme.

I still don't know what they are referencing then cause whatever is going on doesn't happen for me.

You click both volume down and power buttons at the same time to take a screenshot, if you happen to click the volume down first the volume slider will show up

Maybe this is launcher specific, but on Pixel phones, when pulling up the list of apps to switch to, there's a screenshot button, which is way easier and can be done with one hand.

I thought all andoird phones had the ability now to three finger swipe to take a screenshot. That's what I use.

I thought all ~~andoird~~ Android phones had the ability now to three finger swipe to take a screenshot

I don't think I've ever had this functionality. I've always used Google phones (Nexus and now Pixel).

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

I did have to turn it on. Under screenshot settings. If it's not in stock android, they should add it.

Double tap the back of your phone

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I thought it is a oneplus thing.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

I do have a oneplus, but I also upgraded 2 android versions when I got it.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

Holy shit, thanks, I saw it countless times and never thought about it when I wanted to take a screenshot 🤡

Fairphone with Nova launcher, still have the screenshot button

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago

I don't laubcher can customize task switcher, this should be an AOSP feature?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

No no no first you click volume up and power. Then you press down and power so you can take a screenshot of your volume level.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago

Not to mention both buttons are on the same side on Pixels. This means I have to do this awkward gesture where I wrap my left hand around the back to press the power button, then press the volume button with my right hand.

On iPhone, I pinched.

To say Android is objectively better than iPhone is a huge stretch. Maybe in the old days when phones still had rear fingerprint scanners.

Lol, just to reply to the other two commenters, this meme includes androids, as this audio volume slider is from Miui/Hyper OS, the rom used by Xiaomi devices

Source: I use a xiaomi mi 10😄

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

And the three-finger thing is definitely there

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago

Yeah (but I dont use it very much😅)

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 month ago (2 children)

This is why andriod is better, just swipe your hand across the screen. Then done.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 1 month ago (1 children)

That’s vendor specific. I’ve never had a phone that supports that.

Also there few times I’ve tried it went even worse than trying to use volume and power.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

I have both the screen wipe and the two button press.

The swipe is unreliable and often delayed. Most of the time I end up going back a page if trying to screenshot a web page even if I start my hand in the middle of the screen.

The two buttons frequently brings up the volume.

I just want two more buttons I can bind to whatever I want as single or double clicks.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I never can get that one to consistently work. Any trick to it?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

Hold your hand like you're going to karate chop your phone. But start from the very left, then jedi wave across the screen. You do have to touch slightly the screen

Skill issue

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Why are so many images being shared in webp format these days?

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 month ago

That's how they end up being saved as on a lot of sites, so if they are being shared by people downloading and reuploading elsewhere it would spread the .webp file instead of the original.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 month ago

Significantly smaller than .jpg

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

I disabled the screenshot button combo because I kept taking screenshots locking my phone... Now I just accidentally bring up the emergency menu all the time.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I haven't had this issue in ages, my current and previous phone support three fingers on screen as the screenshot trigger

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Mine has a programmable hardware button. One click does a screenshot, two clicks lights the torch, click and hold summons an app.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago

Nice, what brand is it? Mine is a motorola and for the Torchlight I just shake it. A programmable button sounds neat though

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago

I didn't have a problem on my previous phone but I have a Pixel 8 rn and it has all the buttons on one side making the screenshot combo just extra awkward.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago

This is why I love the Quick Tap feature on Pixel phones.
