Summary

The Trump administration has escalated attacks on U.S. District Judge James Boasberg, with White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt calling him a “Democrat activist” and criticizing his wife’s political donations.

This follows Boasberg’s order blocking the deportation of Venezuelan migrants the administration claims are gang members. Trump ignored the order and deported them to El Salvador.

Trump also called Boasberg a “Radical Left Lunatic” and backed impeachment efforts.

Chief Justice John Roberts rebuked Trump and reaffirmed that judicial decisions should not be grounds for impeachment.

Explain to me!

Ah, the nostalgia of the internet's golden dark ages. Good God, we were monsters... Some of us still are!

Do not click on this link, it asks you to install stuff, and redirects when you try to use the back button.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago

Its just to a matrix server. It asks you to install element. The matrix client.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Am I missing something or is this just a download link for Element? How is a Matrix client going to do anything? I already have Element; should it be linking to a specific chat room? Because it's not.

It does if you sign up or sign in.

Well this confirms we’re absolutely fucked in the legal aspect of all this… when do we all arm up and fill the streets?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago

we've been arming up for decades but filling the streets in my small town is not the most useful of activities. So I guess we.. fly somewhere?

[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 week ago

John Roberts being seen as a "democrat activist" would hardly surprise me anymore. Its a reflection of both how crazy the right is and how pathetic centrist dem leadership is.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago

Keep at it TRUMP! Pretty soon you're going to get a REALLY MEAN LETTER that someone will HAVE to read to You!

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago

Hm, is calling a judge a radical left lunatic an official act. Turns out only the court gets to decide. However it probably isn't strictly illegal sadly.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago (4 children)

They mentioned that the judges wife donated $10,000 to Democrats. Just want to point out that "we" did that with Alito's wife as well.

We have a lot of fuel to be angry at the fascists, this seems like less of one.

Obviously not the same, just something I'm thinking about I guess.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 week ago (1 children)

"We" meaning a bunch of goobers on the internet, or the Whitehouse press secretary?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago

We meaning goobers on the Internet and the YouTube pundits, I guess

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Context matters. Alito has done a shit ton more with the GOP than just their wife donating to them.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago

Bullshit false equivalency.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago

So now we’re promoting this judge to Supreme Court, and equating a $10k political donation to publicly displaying partisan support and $250k investment directly benefitted by her husbands ruling?
