My guess is this is a dude who was convinced that “white American women are too sexual so you should find a tradwife in another country,” and I’m surprised there’s not more stories like this. OK, I am all for outrage over the guy not having any remorse, buuuuuut:
In February, Muñoz and Bartell traveled to Puerto Rico to finally take their honeymoon, and upon returning to the U.S. mainland, immigration agents stopped Muñoz and asked whether she was an American citizen. When she explained that she wasn't but was in the process of obtaining a green card, they detained her.
They left the country without her having a green card at the moment? Am I reading this right? How would you think that is a wise idea? ~~And I am aware Puerto Rico is in a grey zone with US citizenship, she still seemed to need a Green card and knew that, so despite that you leave? Risky.~~

She is Peruvian, not Puerto Rican, so she does need a Green card and that has nothing to do with Puerto Rico itself. My bad.
Because she's Peruvian. She got arrested while returning to the US mainland from a US territory, which they might have thought wouldn't have them encountering ICE agents.
Ah, I am so dense. I did read she is Peruvian but then the Puerto Rico info overrode that bit in my brain. Thanks for pointing that out.
