Nah cunt, you keep your fucking hands off our bluey! That's our department of education.

Bluey would be much better than what it'd really be:

YouTube Kids on autoplay.

8 minute Bluey episode
[12 hour advertisement for adult diapers]
8 minute Bluey episode

Even worse: PraegerU Kids on autoplay.

Have the people at The Hard Times even seen an episode of Bluey?

The Heelers are far too woke for MAGA.

The Bluey Federal Education program was canceled as it was found to be "woke" and full of controversial subject matters such as equality and kindness.

The satire here is that there won't be any replacement.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 14 hours ago

Right? This would be a step up from what they're actually going to do.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 15 hours ago

Not videos of Trump and Musk dancing?

[–] [email protected] 10 points 15 hours ago

They would have included Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood but that would require continuing to fund PBS.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 15 hours ago

This is honestly a great way to do a fresh restart.

This is... Not good satire.

**Only on Lemmy can your comment get as many downvotes as the reply comment justifying it gets upvotes. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You're right, it's GREAT lmao

[–] [email protected] 3 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

How? Feels pretty Babylon Bee level to me. They are literally getting rid of the dept of education so that part is just real, and Bluey is way too 'woke' for conservatives to ever get anywhere near it. Also 'giant iPad' is just silly.

Now if it said "Department of Education Replaced with PragerU Kids" That would be much better satire.

But whatever, if the consensus is that I'm wrong then I guess I'm wrong, but to me this just feels like really low effort content for the lowest common denominator. Which I guess we need since 22% of the country are brainwashed morons and 30% can't be bothered to vote.

Idk, are you a parent and/or have watched bluey? Because it probably hits different for parents

[–] [email protected] 9 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

Yep, I'm a parent and a fan. That's how I know it doesn't fit the bill for conservatives.

The show includes episodes that touch on mindfulness, emotions, and inclusivity. While not overtly political, its emphasis on emotional intelligence and gentle parenting has been called out as part of a broader shift away from "traditional" discipline and family values being pushed by 'liberal media.' Bandit, the father, is an active caregiver, while Chilli, the mother, works outside the home. The show portrays Bandit and Chilli as highly engaged, emotionally available parents who embrace play-based parenting. Or as conservatives call it, 'soft parenting.' They also occasionally include diverse characters and family structures, which has already sparked backlash from conservative groups who oppose media normalizing non-traditional families.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 10 hours ago

Yea you've got some good points, but conservatives are also very prone to rash, not well thought out decisions and the ones actually in charge are old AF and out of touch

I could absolutely see them doing this Bluey and all, some backlash from the conservatives who actually know what Bluey is and then they'll freak do damage control and then we'll be at "one giant iPad playing PragerU" lmao

In my opinion not Onion level, but better than I expect from Hard Times.
