Yes, council of cats.
Carl Kahler
Austrian 1856 - 1906
Three Black Cats
signed lower right: Carl Kahler
oil on canvas
canvas: 60 ¼ by 44 ¼ in.; 153 by 112.4 cm
framed: 79 ¼ by 62 ¾ in.; 201.3 by 159.4 cm
can’t find year of painting
1891, the same year he painted his seminal work, "My Wife's Lovers", which may contribute to the overshadowing of this less "valuable" piece. Personally, I prefer the former. 😜
Kahler continued to paint cats until he perished at just age 51 in the San Francisco earthquake on April 18th, 1906.
😮
Cats make great subjects, if you can get them to sit still.
