Go for the original.maybe because the original is one of my favorites, I didn’t like the remake, especially the dub, whereas I loved the original dub (not the Animax version!)

New one is Netflix. Original is available on at least Hulu and Peacock. You can probably also find DVD sets on e-bay, and elsewhere.

Me personally, I think both versions have merits and flaws, thus far. I'm quite happy with the new one, but there's definitely things that the original did better.

Interesting. Is this new one a sequel or a sort of retelling, or both/neither?

It's a re-telling. There haven't been any significant story changes so far, really just choices about pacing and such.
