Of course. It's how a tariff war works.
Except Canadian tariffs have, so far, been targeted so as to cause maximum harm to red states and minimum harm to Canadians. Unlike Trump’s sloppy across-the-board approach.
Yes, that and also Trump seems to count on his supporters not understanding who will end up paying for those tariffs by misleading them into believing other countries will pay for those tariffs for them.
Meanwhile Canadian elected officials have been very upfront about the rough times ahead. But unlike Americans, Canadians are motivated, united and have a strong will to weather the storm.
The way Trump does it also hurts his own country's economy even more because he has made it clear that no country is safe from unpredictable tariffs. Investors hate unpredictability. They'll take their money elsewhere. And on top of that he's doing it with multiple countries at the same time, which is an even dumber thing to do because the effects of all the countries retaliatory tariffs will be cumulative.
Let's see how committed they are to "Free Speech". Bets on how long until Florida or D.C. bans these ads? (They'll call it "foreign interference").

Trump is openly retaliating against people who criticized him. Our constitution isn’t worth the crumbling paper it’s written on any more.
It never was, ignoring how it enshrined slavery, the system it built relied on people acting in good faith. The idea that elected officials would always work to preserve democracy.
Now it's evident that is not an appropriate system for checks and balances.
It has good parts and had a lot of bad parts. It was written centuries ago, so let’s take that framing into consideration. It was a worthwhile endeavor to pursue the good parts while amending the bad, directly or via modern courts. Unfortunately it’s been a backsliding battle against conservatives who selectively interpret it as “originalists”, like they selectively interpret their bible to enhance their power and pocketbook and ignore the parts that are inconvenient or get between them and money, and obstinately refuse change or would actively change it for the worse.
The most ironic part is that the countries that the US fought with in WW2 that had some absolutely awful leadership and governance were outfitted with relatively excellent frameworks to govern with postwar, Germany and Japan, while the US has been crippled with resting on its laurels and mulish refusal to take the lessons learned those endeavors to heart.

Which is pretty true. But it's funny because Canada has tougher tariffs on the US meaning their people pay more for things there for exactly the same reason. Canada charges a 300% tariff on dairy.

That’s not true btw the only thing 300% or more is dairy products classified as other (dehydrated butter, ghee, anything not covered by other negotiations) and it’s only applied when the amount imported is higher than the agreed upon terms of CUSMA
The US and Canada both have dairy tariffs in place. However, they functionally do not exist because they are only applied after a quota is met. For example, last year Canada charged a 0% tariff on all US dairy imports because the total volume of trade never breached the quota limit. This has basically been the case since NAFTA.
Canada, on average, actually charges lower tariffs than the US. That was true before Trump's trade war and remains true today.
Canada can also meet most or all of its own dairy needs. There's no reason a Canadian should be buying dairy from other countries aside from a few niche/luxury products, so that tariff is fine.
Charging tariffs on things a country needs to import is crazy.
So yeah. Tariffs are bad. Let's get rid of them entirely.
70 percent of the revenue of US dairy producers comes from government subsidies lol. As a result they overproduce at less than half the real cost, all from your tax dollars. Pretending like everyone dropping tariffs on US dairy would make dairy trade "fair" is asinine.
