For those that have had enough of the Elon Musk worship online.

No flaming, baiting, etc. This community is intended for those opposed to the influx of Elon Musk-related advertising online. Coming here to defend Musk or his companies will not get you banned, but it likely will result in downvotes. Please use the reporting feature if you see a rule violation.

Opinions from all sides of the political spectrum are welcome here. However, we kindly ask that off-topic political discussion be kept to a minimum, so as to focus on the goal of this sub. This community is minimally moderated, so discussion and the power of upvotes/downvotes are allowed, provided lemmy.world rules are not broken.

Post links to instances of obvious Elon Musk fanboy brigading in default subreddits, lemmy/kbin communities/instances, astroturfing from Tesla/SpaceX/etc., or any articles critical of Musk, his ideas, unrealistic promises and timelines, or the working conditions at his companies.

Tesla-specific discussion can be posted here as well as our sister community /c/RealTesla.

I'm so tired of reading this. When it was announced recently that he was doing this again, we all knew it was probably breaking laws. If we're not going to actually do something about it, then what's the point of even talking about it. They didn't do anything in November about it, and it was even ruled ok to do, apparently, so it's just losses all around. The only thing that could happen is he pulls a trump and doesn't pay anyone, but again, the damage is done, so who really wins?

You need to still talk about it otherwise us watching form outside will give up on you entirely.

Is anyone going to stop him?

No

So he is openly breaking voting laws and no one in Wisconsin is doing anything about it, got it.

Somebody get this to the Wisconsin Supreme Court!... oh wait...

Don't worry I'm sure there will be consequences for rich people breaking the law.

Arrest him should he step foot into the state. Otherwise, shut up.

So long as votes are secret I don't care what. You need to be able to vote for whoever you want.

That's not really how election laws work. There are a ton of different things large and small that powerful people can do to distort the equation "people learn what's going on -> people vote for good outcomes -> good outcomes happen" and a lot of American democracy comes from people making deliberate efforts to try to preserve the functioning of that system. Just having "you can vote" and calling it good is no guarantee of anything at all. People in Russia can vote with secret ballots, for example.

Except there are definitely good chunk of people who will vote for whoever the price giver wants them to vote for. If past elections have showed us anything is that people are dumb.
