I can jump in as a mod if needed. I am the quiet mod type, but can quickly mitigate any issues that pop up. Was a mod of a couple large subs on Reddit and exist as a mod on 196 to help mitigate larger issues when they happen. For the most part, I don't deal with user to user issues since voting can rectify those problems.
Economics
Are you interested in economics?
I think this community would serve well as a general community for economics, with pinned discussions for theory, policy, trends, etc. I think that would provide a lot of meaningful engagement and prevent a lot of posts boiling down to redundant or biased comments. I see too many economic discussions on Lemmy as a whole that don't focus enough on data and the context around it, or that quickly devolve into just policy.
What about the economics-related news posts? How would they fit in?
Ive been cross-posting from .ml comms to the nearest non-.ml comms as part of ongoing boycotting efforts of the .ml instance
This comm is the one I have designated for the .ml version of economics, if it's unmodded, id be happy to take over in furtherance of that goal, but I don't have a specific economics interest
