Aw yeah, this comes up every time "Starship Troopers" is discussed... people say the author is obviously very pro-military (or something), but it's not like that, it's more like he's thinking through the issues and has some very mixed feelings.

Every time someone says RAH believed this or that because of something a character said, I want to post this. Drives me up a wall.
I'd say he was successful in that regard.
There's as many interpretations of the book as there are pages in it. Everyone I've ever talked to about it and how they came into it vs how they came out of it, it hits different for everyone
