Fed has to foot the bill for natl gaurd too. Travel, food, housing, paychecks, benefits...lots of costs. The marines where already active duty iirc so not as much a cost bump but the natl gaurd? Moving them to active duty under the fed must be costly.

So? This is the EXACT reason they ELIMINATED my Social Security and VA Benefits and my Local FOOD BANKS! Cost is NOTHING now!

The federal government would be unable to wage any sustained land war because deploying a military takes real money and winning wars that’s real strategy. The mismanagement of the military will be a serious thorn in their side
