I'll have to remember that when Republican proud boys protest in Florida.

So by extension if I am peacefully protesting and somebody tries to hit me with a car/deadly weapon can I "Stand My Ground" and shoot at the driver? Asking for a friend.
You can run over ICE agents as long as you believe they are, in fact, protesters! It's fascist governor approved!
No ID saying they are ICE, so they very well could be protestors! You have no way of knowing and feel threatened...
Also, aren't many of them wearing masks? "Hell, I thought they were antifa and BLM!"
Remember this when federal agents surround your car and demand you exit. Desantis just said you can run them over if you fear for your life and flee to safety.
"Officer you can't arrest me because that ICE agent you scraped out from under my bumper was protesting before I hit him"
I’ll be at the protest in Orlando. I hope to see some of you there.
Saturday, 5 to 7:30 PM, 400 S. Orange Ave., Orlando, FL
I mean, technically, DeSantis is a protester, he protests all types of shit
Hey Ron if I ask to run you over with my car and you protest and say no, can I run you over with my car now?
There is logic behind not prohibiting people from fleeing from a legitimate threat.
But if his comments don’t also include the statement that people protests blocking traffic don’t constitute a threat, it’s just implicit permission to harm protesters.
If I knew this, I would have drove over a lot of J6ers.
Ron DeSantis has the right to be absolutely demolished by Disney and have his presidential bid collapse before his very eyes.
The RW freaks sure do have an obsession with being able to run over protestors.
Yes that makes the RW freaks very weird. They are weird about this just like they are about so many other things...
What's the definition of threatens though?
Having empathy.
I'd imagine it's just feeling threatened. If multiple people swarm your car and start physically hitting it, I'd argue they just fucked around and are fair game for finding out.
Sadly, my crystal ball tells me some old women is going to blow off the handle and run people over, claiming she felt threatened as an excuse.
God this dude keeps trying so hard to say crazy shit to make himself seem relevant again. Pathetic.
Not in California.
I didn't think the governor of Florida is talking to Californians
Then he should stay out of the conversation.
He wasn't in that conversation. No one is having the conversation you're addressing.
I think in Florida, they have that stand your ground thing which does extend past your home? If so, you would be totally fine in shooting the idiot that’s behind the wheel of the car. Also, if magats were protesting, well, you could run them over too I guess.
Mods on Lemmy allow this but any kind of retaliation against the Nat-C’s gets you dinged. Absolute hypocrites
You can say the word Nazi like a grown up
But he's not talking about Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei; he's talking about nationalist-christians.
Ron DeSantis isn't a lemmy mod, to my knowledge.
Nah you know that mofo is a discord mod
This post isn't about "hey everybody go kill protestors." It's about "hey if you're protesting I'm Florida expect some Nazi to try and kill you with their car so be careful."
Obligatory fuck nazis, but how do the two correlate?
meow
AAAAAAAAAND got dinged for that too. Pathetic. Won’t even state the rule broken. “Rule #” doesn’t mean anything.
