The fame came from a time where the winters were harsh and summers more bland. We are at the tail end of a mini ice age, now the tendency is to winters been suave and summers become hotter. And, with global warming, things are accelerated.

You'd have to go back to the 19th century for those non-fossil carbon dioxide variations to matter.

The notion of nice summers is way older than that, probably.

Honesty there's so many adverts about sunny holidays via plane that I honestly wouldn't be shocked when oil corps turn out to pay for lots of them. Makes the heatwaves more appealing

Idk, I like summer here in Poland.

I fucking hate summer. It’s terrible in Florida. Not as intolerable on the west coast.

Not as intolerable on the west coast.

On the actual coast, sure. Come to the Central Valley of California, tho. Shit's basically the same as Florida except that it's not guaranteed to rain every day around 5pm. 90-100+ heat with 90-100% humidity. 😵‍💫

I only liked it because I was off. Otherwise, I've always hated summer. I used to dream of having a fall or winter vacation instead. I didn't have AC at home or at school growing up, so if I was going to be uncomfortable, just let me go back. I want to go to the zoo on a nice fall afternoon, not the second coming of Satan's asshole.

I like summer. Not when it's high heat and humidity, but I do like it being light outside after 3:30 PM.

I can’t stand it. I can’t sleep well with the sun up. My kids don’t sleep well with the sun up. Who to I have to sacrifice to the sun to get darkness between at least 10pm and 6am? (Though preferably 9pm and 6:30, if the sun is up for negotiations.)

What does PR stand for in this instance?

It'll only get hotter and more days in the year will reach these temperature so get used to it

[–] [email protected] 1 points 4 days ago

I like heat under my own circumstances, summer is definitely not one of them

I suffer in these summers, but I still prefer this suffering to the winter. Winter is too depressing. Christmas is about all that is nice about Winter.

Winter can get in the fucking sea because it's so dark all the time. Mid to late spring is definitely best though.

There's only one great season. Sadly it was quite short this year, at least where I live. https://song.link/i/549480694
