Tragic, but is this World News?

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 day ago (1 children)

It happened in the world, didn't it?

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 day ago

So it’s basically local news

events around the world

Well that narrows it down.

The sun never sets on the British empire!

Man that's just tragic. Such a terrible way to go.

Reminds me of that little girl who was eviscerated by a drainage hole or something. She sat down in a shallow pool and it sucked her entrails out of her asshole. Survived seven months or something. Ten? But eventually she succumbed to her condition. She was like 10 years old or so. So sad. It was a horrible read.

Chuck Palahniuk’s Guts? Or is that actually a real story?

Abigail Taylor. To add to how awful her death was, her accident happened in June 2007, the Virginia Graeme Baker act was introduced in January 2007 and signed into law in December 2007. She died while politicians were discussing it and 5 years after Virginia had died.

PSA: Check your drain covers for VGB compliance and keep them in good condition, they save lives...even if they stub toes.

Reminds me of that stand-up bit about drowning in a jacuzzi on a cruise ship in the middle of the ocean.

His grieving dad Michael said he and his wife were not able to say goodbye as they were stuck in traffic.

If I were in his situation, I'd be weaving through traffic and driving on the shoulder to get to my son. It honestly blows my mind how some people are so law-abiding that they literally will not commit even a relatively minor infraction (in the grand scheme of things) when it matters most, even during a literal emergency. No sensible jury would convict this man for breaking traffic laws in this situation.

I'd gladly do my 6 months to a year in jail if it meant that I got the chance to say goodbye. This father is unbelievable.

Edit: I was wondering why my inbox blew up this morning... I'm not reading all these replies lol. It's not good for my mental health.

I stand by what I said. Shame on all the bad parents out there who wouldn't do anything and everything for their kids. Y'all disappoint me. And shoutout to the four of you who agree with me. You get it.

You have entirely too little information about the actual events to justify any of your conclusions so your comment looks like nothing more than virtue signaling

[–] [email protected] 20 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Will you push it and be ready to kill a 16 Y.O to make another father mourn?

Because by "weaving through traffic" and "taking chances", that's usually what ends up happening.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago

Sometimes. Maybe even often. I'm not so sure about usually.

[–] [email protected] 26 points 1 day ago

Somehow you made this about you and how you're a better person than them. Good job.

The dad-of-four told MailOnline: "I'm ripped to pieces, one of my babies is gone. I had four children and now I have three."

Can't wait for the article "Selfish asshole kills 8 year old rushing to hospital to pretend saying "goodbye" to a brain dead warm body counts for anything."

Reading comprehension is also low, it says the police escorted them to the hospital. So enjoy your psychotic fantasy of checks notes running red lights and driving on the curb to get to your already brain-dead son. We can all collectively hope you never have an excuse to be so reckless, and if you do, you are the only one who has to suffer for it.

Sometimes there's no shoulder to drive on. In a city it's pretty much impossible to weave through traffic.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Might not be such a simple call to make (would endanger others). It might not even be about the law, its probably pretty hard to think after hearing that news.

Good point. Edited my comment to be less selfish.
