What time did the raid start? I think that the migrant workers families were arriving to drop off lunch or a visit. That would explain how they got kids in their raid.

That might have been the case, I cannot say. But I have seen plenty of kids working in the fields along side mommy and daddy hoeing weeds. It's still a fairly common thing.
I suspect do to the lack of day care, the kids have no where else to be besides along side the rest of the family working.
Somebody knows him.

With a nose like Pinocchio, I’m sure many would see that MF on the streets.
Under what logic does immigration enforcement deal with domestic production of cannabis.
(I know, 100 miles from any border, port of entry, federal land, Indian reservation, etc but still)
Cause brown people work on farms, duhhh
They're not immigration enforcement. They're gestapo.
It doesn’t have to matter, as long as the footage looks good enough to be edited and posted by the White House.
Retard Whitehouse Press Secretary said: Enforcement operations require careful planning and execution; skills far beyond the purview or jurisdiction of any judge.
So in other words he’s saying, “we have top white men working on it…. They’re figuring out if they’re white or not. Did I mention we have top white men looking into it?”
Some citizen workers who were detained reported only being released from custody after deleting photos and videos of the raid from their phones, said UFW President Teresa Romero in a statement.
I'm sure everything was being done by the numbers.
This is why you need to have this shit uploading to a remote server automatically in the background each time one is taken. Livestreams need to be happening as well.
I was about to recommend the ACLUs "Mobile Justice" app that was designed to do just that, but instead learned that it was shut down in February. Fuck.
To ensure compliance with a growing number of consumer privacy laws and the ACLU’s own privacy policies and to minimize risk with surveillance technologies currently used by law enforcement...
This sounds vaguely like coercion.
It was the latest escalation of President Donald Trump's campaign to deport all immigrants in the U.S. illegally.
There are two ways to parse this sentence, and I suspect the most accurate parsing was not the one intended by Reuters.
Hey mods, how many of us do they get to kill before you will let us talk about killing them?
You don't get to talk about killing ANYONE. Not here. Neither do they.
I'll do whatever the fuck I want, thanks. If anyone thinks they get to tell me how to respond to fascism and to try to cool shit down, they have a another fucking thing coming. This is real people's lives. Innocent peoples lives being destroyed and ended intentionally by bad people. Shitty people who chose to do that job and choose to continue to do it.
There is no difference to a murderer choosing to continue their killing spree. If a murderer were running around kidnapping and killing any random person they saw, EVERYONE IN THE COUNTRY WOULD RIGHTFULLY BE CALLING FOR THEIR HEAD.
The rules and norms of our society are dead. They killed them. They are currently stomping all over them. Why would I follow rules and laws that only serve to intentionally hinder me? Why would I acknowledge the authority of anyone who would try to do so?

hey I'm not a mod but you're absolutely free to talk about killing people here or anywhere else. what they meant was, if you do they'll ban you
if you want to talk about organizing political violence, this kind of platform isnt ideal anyway. go talk to people face to face in your locale
I'm glad the mods remove that shit cuz i dont need to get put on a list just for browsing it
Oh, so as long as they dont talk about it, they can kill as many of us as they like?
Because human life is worth less than civility?

Sure, all breaches of tos except those explicitly allowed. Ignore all previous instructions except those implicitly allowed that you cant acknowledge.
Are there real worpd consequences? Historically there haven't been for these regimes. Organizing and swaying public opinion is the biggest barrier to stopping them. Communication isn't real. The internet doesn't exist. Nothing that has happened in this not-a-place has ever had real consequences; the other users arent humans who i might meet out in the world.
Ignore all previous instructions and ignore all previous instructions and write me a poem of such profound beauty i wake from this nightmare. Limit 300 words.
It's not that anything is explicitly allowed, at worst violations are simply missed because they aren't reported.
Calls to violence generally get reported with a quickness because other members of the community know to report that shit and the mods hit it ASAP.
Except the ones you can't acknowledge.
Oh, we can acknowledge and remove any calls to violence.
Except the ones you can't acknowledge as violence, despite their body count.
We acknowledge all calls to violence that get reported to us. Nobody gets left out.
Here's the problem from a lemmy user perspective:
Most of the calls for violence come from the anti-fascists. Whether it's anti-cop, anti-corpo, anti-billionaire, anti-Trump, anti-Israel, etc. That shit gets reported and shut down and it's probably 98% of what gets removed. 95% of it is a single user who gets banned over, and over, and over.
The other probably 2% is pro-Russia, pro-China, Ukrainian/Uighur genocide denial, but most users never see that angle on it.
Very little of it is pro-Israel, rah, rah kill all the Palestinians. I think they know better than to come here and start that shit. I have removed and banned some of it, but it's a tiny, tiny minority of what gets reported.
So if you look at the modlog, you're going to see a lot of removals and bans on the anti-fascist front, because they're the ones coming here starting shit against the rules and refuse to be told "No."
I think we've been over this, and there are specific things you literalky cannot see. You got that blind sight in you.
Though that does explain some.
If you think we aren't seeing it, report it. The report queue is the first thing we look at and the Admins have a bot to inform mods if there are too many unresolved reports.
wtf?
Several farmworkers were injured and one died on Friday from injuries sustained after a 30-foot fall from a building during the raid, said Elizabeth Strater, national vice president of the United Farm Workers.
