I already called and they told me to keep it.

I only wanted to order some paraphernalia and was a bit shy of the free delivery discount, so I added two g's to my shopping cart. Now I got 10 times the amount. By the rate I'm going, this is gonna last me 2 years!

Man, first my Jamaican roulette last night and now this. Is this a sign?

Also: Can weed buds in an air-proof packaging stay fresh for a year or so?

Store them in a glass jar, preferably with rubber airtight seal. Choose a a size so that it doesn't take more than 2/3 of jar volume. It can be dark glass but you still should keep it away from sunlight. Drop Boveda 62% humidity control pack into that jar, check it every couple of months and it should last for even longer than that.

As a cigar guy.... this is great advice. Boveda and a container with a gasket is the way to go for anything.

That's exactly how I store my buds. In glass jars like this and the jars I keep in my stash box, which itself is then stored in a cabinet.

The new 2x10g were delivered in an air tight, light-proof paper-packaging. Should I just keep those closed until I need them, and then transfer them to a jar, or open them immediatly, transfer them to a jar, and drop that humidity control pack in there?

You could also do both. Keep them in their packaging, and toss that in a jar. Might be excessive, but these are valuable goods!

I haven't thought about it. Where I come from MM is usually quite dry and requires humidity boost from humidity control packets so I just move move it to jars immediately. Probably best if someone else could weigh in.

Are you smoke homeopathic joints?

[–] ProcurementCat@feddit.de 12 points 2 years ago (2 children)

I only started smoking a year ago and my tolerance is absurdly low. I can get baked from 1-2 puffs from my friends' joints.

So yeah, basically ^^

Don't let anyone shame you for your tolerance, one day it may be much higher and you'll wish it was low again! It's not necessarily cool to have a high tolerance, would just mean you smoke a lot of weed.

Great thing about tolerance though is it can always be reset in a matter of days. I second the suggestion for dry herb vaping though, it transformed smoking for me. Smoking joints tastes utterly vile after vaping for years.

Haha don't worry, yeah those people trying to shame me are just making me laugh. Imagine bragging about not getting properly high anymore :p I find it adorable and that's how I react to it as well.

Yeah, the tolerance stuff I noticed as well. I kinda smoke in phases, like two weeks I smoke almost every day and then there's months where I don't have any desire for it at all. The first hits after those breaks hit different haha

Yeah I'm also looking into buying a Pax 3 right now. I would've ordered it yesterday if there wasn't a sudden 600€ bill that came up..

Do you have any tips for smoking hash in vaporizers? I know the Pax 3 can handle it, but I don't know if there's caveats I have to look out for.

[–] Transcendant@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago

My tip.... save a little bit more, skip the Pax, get a Storz & Bickel Mighty. Mighty v2 is out so you may even be able to find a v1 at a more affordable price. If you want something stealth for outdoors, there's a bunch of cheaper small dry herb vapes that are as good as or better than Pax (imo).

I own a Pax2 and a Mighty v1, no comparison. The pax is quite difficult to maintain / clean, gums up very quickly, requires daily or twice-daily cleaning, only 4 temp settings, difficult draw, kinda harsh, small chamber. Mighty just keeps on trucking for a month+, the vapour is much much much smoother, the accessories are brilliant, better battery, far more control over temps, and comes with capsules / mesh for hash.

And for sure, that first hit after a break.... I kinda don't enjoy it. I always think "This is what people who 'can't take cannabis because it fucks their head' experience, this is horrible" but then the second hit is extremely enjoyable and I remember why I consume it!

100%. Pressuring people into smoking more than they need is shitty for a variety of reasons.

[–] Chais@sh.itjust.works 10 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Consider switching to dry herb vaping. Tastes much better and uses less bud for the same effect.

Yeah I'm looking into buying a Pax 3 right now. Do you know what things I have to pay attention to when I occasionally want to smoke Hash in a vaporizer?

[–] Chais@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 years ago

They'll usually tell you upfront if the device is suitable for hash or other concentrates. But hash should work reasonably well with most vaporizers when sandwiched in bud. Purely conductive vaporizers might be at a disadvantage.
