Jokes on you, I wasn't young then, either. Hahaha, oh wait...

[–] hglman@lemmy.ml 8 points 2 years ago

The joke is always on the old.

I still remember all the online chatter about Heath Ledger getting cast as the Joker. The guy from Brokeback Mountain and A Knight's Tale?

Then he gives us the most iconic live action Joker potrayal which hasn't really been been surpassed in 15 years.

[–] Diprount_Tomato@lemmy.world 8 points 2 years ago

Just like the fucking dude that made The Hangover making Joker(2019)

[–] NotVeryHelpful@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Idk, I think Joaquin Phoenix played a better joker. That might be a hot take, but I stand by it.

15 years ago, I was... in my 30s.

So I wasn't all that young then either.

[–] AlexisFR@jlai.lu 14 points 2 years ago (1 children)

And it's still unmatched by all Batman movies that came after...

[–] NotVeryHelpful@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago (2 children)

The Batman is damn close, though. I had low expectations going into it, but it's about tied with Dark Knight in my opinion.

[–] sup@lemmy.ca 2 points 2 years ago

I agree, The Batman was amazing

[–] Xanvial@lemmy.one 1 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

It's great, but the act 3 kinda ruined it

[–] sanguinepar@lemmy.world 13 points 2 years ago

Yeah, thanks for that...

[–] mawmon@lemmy.world 12 points 2 years ago

Ah you think dark knight is your ally? You merely adopted the dark knight. I was born in it, molded by it. I didn't see the movie until I was already an old man, by then it was nothing to me but blinding!

[–] PlaidBaron@lemmy.world 9 points 2 years ago

I wasnt young when it came out. Joke's on you.

[–] lowleveldata@programming.dev 9 points 2 years ago

If good movies can still be good after any period of time I can be young at any age.

[–] Beardsley@lemmy.world 9 points 2 years ago

I will have you know that my neck is only slightly sore from just sleeping.

[–] illi@lemm.ee 8 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

I most definitely did not need to know this...

[–] Damage@feddit.it 8 points 2 years ago

Toy story came out 28 years ago

[–] TeaHands@lemmy.world 6 points 2 years ago

I'm middle aged and I'm ok with that!

[–] eek2121@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago

I hate you.

[–] InfiniteFlow@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago

That’s fine: I wasn’t young back then either 😛

[–] gmtom@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago

What? No, it didnt. I wasnt 5 years old when it came out I was like 15-16.......oh.

[–] platysalty@kbin.social 3 points 2 years ago
[–] AzuleBlade@lemm.ee 3 points 2 years ago

[–] unreachable@lemmy.my.id 2 points 2 years ago

[–] bmovement@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

Feels like 25 years

[–] finthechat@kbin.social 2 points 2 years ago

Ah yes. It's all been downhill ever since.

Though there was a brief bright spot when The Dark Knight Rises came out a few years after that and we got Baneposting for a while.
